I have had that happen with a stretched chain as well. If the truck is on pavement with pretty equal torque there is nowhere for the differential to distribute torque and chain skips. I would just replace chain an check planetary alignment as suggested above.
There are several companies that sell adapters for that engine to 4l60, 4l80 and other GM transmissions. No need to invent anything:

I confirmed we have a core in stock but it may need a new bushing eventually. Email Will@outfitterdesign.com and he can send over an invoice if you are interested. Just make sure to tell him you are looking for the passenger side.
I will check to see what we have at the shop today. We usually try to have two in stock as cores for when we do a company build but I can ask my business partner if we can let one go since you are in a bind
Any pictures? We had a shop tell a customer that theirs "broke" but it ended up being that the bushing had completely disintegrated and metal sleeve was banging around. With new bushings it was fixed.
These are just for OEM applications. As people start rebuilding front diffs and taking apart the coupler on the driverside they are starting to find that the splines are ruined or shaft starting to twist at the end. The OEM part is no longer available so we had a small run of these made. The...

On another forum there was a post a few months ago that the OEM intermediate shaft for the front diff is no longer available anywhere. Its common for the splines to wear out on...
It sounds like the brake booster pump crapped out. There is a little pump and accumulator that while rare, can fail. If it cannot maintain sufficient pressure the system goes into fault and will disable traction control and transfercase from shifting. People sometimes cook them while bleeding...
LOL you think they would learn by now about putting little tierods on offroad truck! Our other hobby is atvs and UTVs. We have a lifted polaris ranger 6x6 and we laughed when we realized the tierods are same size as an H3 stock.
Cannot wait till our reservation is filled and we can hit the trails. Will be interesting to compare to the H2 and H3 on 37s in the fleet. The extra wheel travel will be nice but the weight might make it a little interesting. My business partners old H1 that was fully built on 42's weighed about...
Just a heads up we used to have our compressor mounted back there and had overheating issues in the summer so we moved under the hood and haven't had an issue since.
If you think spending more money gets you less problems then I hate to be the one to let you know that is not how vehicles (or anything for that matter) works... Ive been fortunate to have several expensive vehicles in my life and I never once expected them to be more reliable because I spent...
Sorry, we are trying to find new manufactures for several of our product lines the machine shops we switched to are still dealing with unreasonably long lead times as they are short staffed like everyone else
Curious about what MMW is actually going to produce, is it going to have exact same geometry as the rancho knuckle? What will be done for testing? As Ive mentioned in other threads, we have had the whole kit drawn up in CAD ready to go for years now but when we priced out knuckles it didnt make...
What year is your H3? I know on our 2009 H3T it had a heat shield on motor mount that I have not seen on any other years. On our 2007/2007s we would ruin motor mounts around 10,000-15,000 miles that did not have the factory heat shield. The aftermarket ones suck. We had even shorter life of 1...
We have been in the process of moving our shop so things havent been progressing quickly. We did narrow down the vibration on one of the test trucks to the driveshaft and transfercase so that was a huge win. Still need to track down vibration on the last truck. The crate full of shafts and...
