Take the strike plate off and gently squeeze in a vice then reinstall. Its a common thing especially with 37 tire mounted as spare. It last for about a year or so then needs to be done again. We have been working on a product that will fix this but its low on our list unfortunately.
You just need to make sure that whatever Gen 4 engine you get has "car" style motor mount holes on the block. The alpha uses those not the standard truck motor mount holes on the driverside if I remember correctly. When our 2009 alpha cracked a piston it was cheaper for us to get a Gen IV 6.0L...
Good news, they think it wasn't a huge issue. It appears that since this specific one has been our prototype housing for near 8 years and been pressed apart/ pressed together so many times testing different combinations that there was a tolerance issue that caused the slow leak. They rebuilt the...
Still kicking. Dropped the truck off 3 weeks ago to see why seals were leaking AGAIN. They said it appears diff was overfilled despite following their new fill level so they are going to adjust level again and we will test it out. This is going to be frustrating as we know there will be people...
Ive been seeing issues with remanufactured steering racks and differences in machining lately. Would be great to get feedback on the rebuild as I think this is a great path forward for people that like to tinker.
Ive only seen actual civilian H1s that had 10,300 gvwr. I know the military Humvee have a large range depending on chassis build. The one that I am unsure about is the 1992-1994 models as that was early in civilian production. My friends 1995 was 10,300 for sure
Nice work! Sorry to be late to the game on a response. Leather is tricky to swap over on the H3. I believe they inject the foam around the frame if I remember correctly
Axle seal issue appears to have been fixed on final version of seals. We have been logging miles on this final version and just put in order for run of bushings for the production version. Getting close... Next month we are pulling diff, checking for leaks, fluid condition, bearings, wear...
After receiving the harness and ECU/ TCM from Jeremy we dropped it off to get dyno tuned and also tuned while driving around where they can adjust shift firmness etc. This made a huge difference
I remember seeing the black h3 with factory duramax picture years ago on one of the forums from Europe. That would have been awesome to at least get the PCM/ BCM so we could pull the file from it.
We have had so many H3s over the years and it was shocking that our 2006 with 37s and 3.5L was...
I was sad to see that in the news. Not a good look for those of us that are competent owners. Unfortunately I see that around here in New England pretty often. Its from the leaf spring breaking around the front eye.
We have run full skids we made for both a 5 cylinder on 37s and 6.0 swapped on 37s no difference with heat before and after installation. We drove cross country to Moab in 2018 with them and no issues
Pre 2008 had crappier syncros and smaller clutch. Ive had two 2006 5 speeds over the years both started having syncro issues eventually but I just dealt with it and they lasted a long time. I sold one around 100k but the second one I had 37s on it for several years as my commuting daily driver...
From memory I do not think any of the hard parts would have issue with vin swap but it would have issue with tune. No matter what, I strongly suggest getting a tune done after swap the 6l80/90 is awesome but the lifespan is greatly effected by the tune. This is the pdf I went by to learn of the...
