Can't say I'm surprised Whistlin' was part of it. When he's not just blatantly tearing stuff up, he has some cool videos, but I lost interest long ago. I think he is probably a pretty smart guy. He obviously made a fortune from YouTube and knows his audience. Still, I'm not completely...
I may have been wrong about it being available separately. Verify before you order anything. Don’t just go by what I found on Google, but the P/N for the accumulator only may be 15240730.
That is the brake booster. The silver part (to the best of my knowledge) isn't sold separately, but as part of the whole assembly that includes the linkage, reservoir, etc. GM P/N 1741156. Rock Auto has it, but get ready for sticker shock.
What was the actual code you pulled related to the ABS? Not saying the yaw sensor can’t go bad— it obviously can— but I’m not sure it’s really that common.
Replaced ignition switch in the camo H3. It was not a good couple weeks for Hummers in our house. The white one was down with an electrical issue. Then, while it was apart in the garage, the camo one left us momentarily stranded 50 miles away. I was in the parking lot with the hood up...
I did not. Like I said earlier, having it completely OEM was not important to me. I used the trailer brake wiring since I will probably never tow with this one. If that ever changes, I’ll probably add a secondary fuse box inside.
Here are the P/N, however all three have been discontinued, so anything you find will be NOS or used:
GM: 88988653
AC Delco: PT2094
Standard: S-1427
I ended up getting junkyard connectors, however I did not look under the passenger seat before getting started. It was another electrical hack...
Everything is back together and better than before. A previous owner did an absolutely terrible job adding an aftermarket radio and backup camera. Backup camera power was taken directly from the wire from the ignition switch to the BCM. That cable at the back of the truck was run through a...
Yes, you guys are 100% right about it not being easy! I could not figure out why the PO never bothered hooking up the heat until I started Googling for people who have done it before. Most of those seemed to end in people giving up. I'm pretty confident I can make it work, even without the...
I think I have this figured out. I'll post what it ended up being once it's all back together and I'm certain it's fixed. Suffice it to say, there is a reason all the service manual diagnostic charts start with "Check for aftermarket accessories..." P.O. left a nice hack job on the wiring for...
Since I am in the midst of sorting out an electrical issue that left me stranded the other night, I was trying to clean up some other stuff. Until I looked at the RPO tag, I didn't realize this H3 did not originally come with power seats. Someone swapped in OEM heated leather seats at some...
I want to double check with everyone and see if my thinking on this situation makes sense before I dive deeper into it. Truck is an '08 3.7 with AT. Driving home last night it died. Just as if the key was turned off. DIC, lights and everything still work. Literally just as if you turned the...
I know this isn’t encouraging, but my 300K H3 has been sitting in the barn for over a year because there isn’t an answer that makes any financial sense. Used I5s are stupid expensive. No one will rebuild them. Shops are even reluctant to swap in a rebuilt OR want a small fortune. On the...
