My guess is it's not actually broken. Probably had moisture in it that froze in the cold weather. Not on the Hummers, but I have had similar issues before on my truck. Sun came out, warmed it up and it was fine.

There is not a relay. Turn signal is controlled by the BCM. The "click" comes from a speaker behind the instrument cluster. I have seen people also say the noises produced by the driver side speaker. I'm not sure if there was a difference in years or options.

I don't think getting a rebuilt motor is any guarantee of quality at all. I've seen some really poor remans firsthand. Also disagree with the assumption that a used car will only last a year or two. That said, I understand your point. Gotta' do what you feel is right for your situation.

Pure guess, but that is similar to my 2008 when I bought it. Mine would stutter, sometimes die and go into limp mode briefly when accelerating. Then ran great. It was a bare wire on the cam position sensor. The wire would move just enough on acceleration to short to ground on the valve cover...

When I was fighting that it was the intake manifold. Check and make sure all the bolts are tight.

Frustrating, I know, but the reality is the newest H3s are now 15 years old. I get it.

How hard do they look? I put a spark plug non-fouler on my O2 sensor on my old H3 and it took care of a P0420 for years.
