I've seen plenty of chatter about the Flashpaq 2865, Cortex 2950 and the new VIVID/VIVID Linq Android-based tuners -- so I figured we should dedicate a sole thread to the good and bad of the Superchips' product.

Please use this thread to post raves and rants, your favorite settings, performance achievements, and general Superchips questions!

You can read about the Flashpaq here, the Cortex here, and the VIVID here, and VIVID Linq here.

At this time, Superchips programmers are only compatible with Alpha H3/Ts.

I am running the Flashpaq, which has been mated with a K&N filter and an AirDoc's performance intake. I primarily run the '87 Octane' setting, and I have a noticeable performance increase -- although my mileage has stayed at around 12-14 mpg around town. I don't do much highway travel right now, but when I got the 10+ hours between home and school, I typically hit 16.5 mpg on the interstate.

I have run the '93 Octane' performance setting in the past, and the performance increase was definitely noticeable; however, mileage gains were zilch and the price of premium gasoline have kept me running the 87 Octane setting.

The 'Mileage XS' mode completely neutered my truck, but mileage increases were definitely noticeable -- about a 2 mpg increase.

To add to the discussion, they DO NOT have anything yet for the 2010 5.3 FlexFuel Alpha 3's or T's. My last contact with them a couple of months ago, they were unaware of any development being discussed for those vehicles. FYI

Hmm, I was fairly sure that someone (Kflips?) was running the Flashpaq on their 2010 with no problems. It is still a 5.3L...and they just recently released a patch for the 2865 so that it works with 2011+ 5.3L's...

Well...hopefully whoever was running it will pipe-up. You can always go with a PCM For Less tune as well, if you haven't already looked into it. They are a site sponsor.

You can't change the tire size with the cortex, its advertised that you can, but you cant. I dont think you would be able to with any of the tuners but i may be wrong

Like benlaud said, you can't change the tire size, but you can change gear ratios. I'm pretty close to spot on in my speedo just by trying the different ratios.

I used the Flashpaq on my 08 Alpha and it was great! Improved driveability, shifting for sure. no tire size adjustment. I can confirm no 2010 avail. also. last time I checked with Superchips they were "not going to offer at this time." that was just before the 1st of the year.

I am running a superchips on my H3 alpha. I usually only run perforce mode or tow mode. Both have great amounts if torque and HP but have never recorded mph. I'm sure the mph are low but I enjoy the noticeable Power gain.

The Flashpaq can be had new for around $330, the Cortex slightly more, and the VIVID a bit more.

As far as I know (and trust me folks, I'm no expert -- just voicing my opinion) they all offer the same tunes, just in different packages. The Cortex costs more because it can tune more than one vehicle, and the VIVID is more because it is the latest technology and can be adjusted via your Android smart phone.

got mine for 100 bucks because someone bought it thinking it would work with their i5.

I think if you buy a used one you can delete the old vehicle used if it was used for 100 dollars.

Wonder how the performance will be with the 95 octane I'm running

Question's????
How do u change the performance setting to 87 octane without using the mileage xs setting???
I have the tire setting changed but would like to use more of the advanced settings.. Anybody have a good setup they are using??

You shouldn't have any problem with the 95 octance since there is a 91 performance tune, as long as you run 91 or higher your fine

I don't fully understand this question. You can only run one setting (stock, mileage xs, towing, 87, or performance) at a time.

To my knowledge that is not supported. That'd be a great question to ask on the Superchips forum. They are very good about getting back to their customer base.

Just purchased my Superchips from a forum member. Can't wait to get it! Especially if it does what it did to my Rubicon....it was a night and day difference!
