My Air Hog cold air intake gets plugged with two track dust and snow dust. I do have the factory air box I took off 80k ago. I'm looking at going back to the OEM air box with a snorkel,to get cleaner air. I'm not looking to get street credits? Just something that works. I also have a 2 1/2"cat back exhaust. It does need a bit more air than stock. My i5 doesn't have a programmer , but some basic remap for the cold air intake and bigger exhaust. What's a good air filter/ snorkel combo? I do know I need to go back to the stock air box.

Unless you are worried about having the name on the side go on eBay and search fir the sherpa snorkle. Its cheaper and the only difference I can find is it doesn't say safari on the side

The ARB (Sherpa) works. I have had one for years...only complaint is that it likes to snag tree limbs. I don't need one now but, I did back when my rig was more "stock-ish". My primary concern was keeping the RF fender above the mud/water line....and not really for river-crossings. Now that I'm +6" of lift, its not too much of a concern. If I hadn't have bored a hole in the fender, it would already be gone.

The tree thing is my biggest concern. I can see that thing being a fish hook in the woods. I suppose I could get a sock thingy to go over the air hog. That would make it easy to clean out on the trail.

Nothing, I dint get a snorkel TO cross water over my fenders, I got a snorkel because even splashing through smaller water crossings scared me due to the truck taking in its air inside the fenderwell.

I have the Sherpa as well. Just letting you know if you do get it it doesn't come with instructions for whatever reason. I found a thread on Pirate 4x4 of a guy who installed his ARB snorkel step by step with pics...I used that since they are essentially the same.

Mine and a few others were in the shipping info a lot on the outside of the box, like an afterthought or something lol

Safari was sold by ARB, Sherpa is exactly the same. "Fish hook" can be rotated backwards. I had mine for ~6+ month, so far works great.

Good point! If hItting branchy trails turn it around. This is definitely on my to do mod list.
might try both the hook part and have the cyclone one as well to see it it does also.

I don't get in that kind of terrain often but when I'm behind other rigs on trails I like the fact that it takes in air high from the track dust[emoji13]
