Performance, HP and MPG upgrades

I don't believe in throttle body spacers or IAT chips that fool the PCM into thinking you need more gas because of the false temp reading on the intake air..

What I have done to mine which gives me on average 20+MPG in city/interstate driving is:

K&N CAI

Gibson Cat-back Dual exhaust

PCM tune from PCMforless

Castrol Edge oil

and

Pulstar ef1i iridium spark plugs

These mods and the 20mpg sounds great.
I would want to do these mods to my 06 H3 too. How much did you spend? For the PCMforless, do you remember what where your order settings?
I live in SOFLA and I will have to either get the loaner program or send mine.

I am running a leveled 3.7 liter Hummer H3 running 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC tires currently getting 9 mpg in city and 13 on highway after doing a full custom exhaust using MBRP and Flowmaster 40 muffler, K&N air filter, new spark plugs, battery etc. If you are getting 20 mpg out of an H3 then you must be running a diesel lol....

I tried some intensive hypermiling techniques before my engine swap and could knock on 18 MPG in the city. It involved a lot of neutral coasting and constant attention to fuel consumption with a scan gauge. Mileage got worse on the highway because there was not much you could do other than driving 55 to continue to reduce the steady state consumption.

Diesel swap. Helps fuel economy and power at the same time. While I really like the duramax 4bt is likely a better swap

Somebody needs to check their math. I don't think an H3 can get 20 MPG, down-hill, with a tail-wind, drafting a semi-trailer. (the exception being Casey).

I broke 20 twice and saw 19.1 once. The pics of that were off the scangauge, someone commented that the scangauge numbers weren't reliable back when I did it so here's one of the dash and gas receipt. I was on 33's and no roof rack between Tulsa, OK and Plano, TX doing 65.

I got 19 once on a long flat freeway in steady 60-65 mph traffic . I would rather get 14-15 than drive 60 for a couple hours . The only time I ever felt good about doing 60-65 on the freeway , was when Ca dropped the freeway speed limit to 55 . I can't drive 55 !

I have 11,2 mpg in city and 13,84 on hiway. 35 inch tires 5.3 engine. I think 20+ impossible.
