Okay, its time to choose which one i want and i cant decided. Help me out here!

1. http://www.hattamotors.com/detail.aspx?id=2282117&PrefID=11459&.aspx

Pros:leather seats, monsoon system, low milage, well taken care of.

Cons:its the 3.5L engine, (worry about the head problems) and have to de chrome most of it, No sunroof.

2. http://www.powerdirect.com/index.cf...&preauctionsearch=&fromSearchList&PhotoType=1

Pros: has sunroof(should that be con since they have leaks?), 3.7L engine, well taken care of.

Cons: no leather, no monsoon system, milage slightly higher but still low'ish.

If any of you could tell me what you would choose if it was your choice and any other thoughts or concerns you may have!

Note: I have seen both in person, and have driven the 2007, not the 2006.

Thats tough. Couldnt find one with the adv package?

The sunroof only leaks when the drain gets clogged. You just need to clean it and the problem is taken care of.

Man this is a hard choice.

I did I found a black 06 with adv package but there asking 21k for it with 81,000 miles on it! They wouldnt even budge on the price. Chris(06h3) and i both test drove it and everything it seemed great! just the price was too high!

heres the link:http://www.kiaofvalencia.com/VehicleDetails/used-2006-HUMMER-H3-4dr_4WD_SUV-Valencia-CA/1894475273

Its a tough choice plus i love the pewter color!

1) Check both vehicles history to see if either has had the head replaced. If they have not, then: 2) Do a search of the VIN on the '07 and see if it falls under the range of those early '07's with the bad heads. If it does not, then I'd pick the '07.

In addition I believe the '06 has the plastic shift fork whereas the '07 does not. The added HP of the 3.7 is a noticable improvement from my personal experience of driving both the 3.5 and 3.7.

It was an easy choice for me once I drove both years. The window button placement and the bigger engine sold me on my 07. The huge sunroof is also a deal breaker for me. That thing is an absolute must have IMO.

I think the 07 is a plus with the motor...I don't care about the sunroof I know it clogs and I remember recon mentioning its a weak spot in the roof in case of a rollover but the view is nice. Both pros and cons

Get a 3 and start wheeling!

My 06 has yet to have a t case issue so I'm not worried about the fork.

I'd lean toward the 06 if it were me. I lke leather and heated seats (if applicable). Killer sound and sun roof.

If I don't want to work as hard on it and repair it frequently I get a 08> newer.

I personally own an 07

Please note the window switch placement and other 07 upgrades were mid-cycle. Not all 07s have that upgrade but its nice to see that one does have it. Also, head issues appear in multiple years, though 06 is more likely. Sunroof is pro and con - not just leaks but can also create rattles. PITA to fix if it ever needs it.

There are still other little upgrades in the 07, even before mid-cycle, that are nice. Bit more power. Coin holder in front of shifter. Slightly different rear view mirror with temp display. Probably other small engineering fixes that they put in as they were developed.

That 07 is described as an H3X but it isn't one, so if you go that route I would work them on pricing. Or, I'd work them to find the H3 you want.

Personally I'd shop a bit more. Options are out there that are closer to what you are seeking. Here's one: http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/ctd/3475791335.html

Yea I knew it wasn't an h3x I told them at the dealer and they honestly had no clue about anything on the hummer, the salesmen was really chill and even admitted to not knowing a single thing.

Also when I drove the 2007 when I stopped at a light it had a rough idle and when I pulled over and put it in park the idle was rough. It went away with acceleration and came back when stopped again. I thought I was a dirty throttle body or bad motor mounts. No CL either.

I have a locker now and a 4:1 hanging out in the garage waiting to be fixed and installed. I would say get the options that aren't easily replaceable. For example, heated seats, monsoon sound system, sunroof and 3.7l engine are all tougher things to change if you want them and don't have them. At the end of the day a locker and 4:1 are much easier to upgrade compared to sunroofs motors and seats (electrical for heated seats.) so I would say shoot for the adv package if you can find it but dont be too obsessed finding it just don't sell yourself short on anything. The wait is worth it...depending on your wants and needs of course

Don't be afraid to say no to the dealership you're working with if they can't get you the H3 you want. I did a lot of shopping before finally settling on which truck to buy and then I drove 3 hours away to get it. That's me tho, I'm picky and ended up getting the exact H3 options I wanted(at the time). Little did I know that what I wanted would change over time. lol

When I bought the truck, I had no intentions of going off-road, so I didn't care about the adventure package, but now I wish I had gotten one with it.

The only satisfaction I got on doing the "homemade" Adventure package is the major improvements offroad and learning how to do without them. Wiring the locker to work at anytime is also a plus. Other then that its more expensive. I would of gone with the adv package off the bat

Its most probably a bad engine mount. I have the same thing on my 06, I rev the engine up abit when I'm at a stop to stop it from vibrating.

I personally recommend the 07 with the larger engine, u wont regret it esp if u get the larger tires. At least u won't have to look for ways to get more hp!

does anyone know the cut off for the 07 vin range?

My bad. It was actually the 3.5 engines made before April of '06 that didn't have the hardened valve seats which are prone to failure. Some later model H3's with the 3.7 engine have also had head issues, but the problem is not to the degree of the earlier 3.5's.
