Why not try screw extractors. My friend broke 2 of my transmission pan screws leaving the screw in and no way to get it out...so I resources to those screw extractors and they worked good.
Here's a video.

Thanks Panzer, yeah I'd been trying to use those extractors all day yesterday and nothing... They don't want to bite onto the spark plug any... Went out and got a no. 5 extractor, was too small, then went and got a big boy no. 6 extractor... it seems big enough but won't grab on... Was told that you turn the extractor clockwise till it "grabs", then you turn counter-clockwise and it should pull the stuck threads out...

2000-2010 Fords truck motors are famous for this same issue. They actually make a tool specifically for the Ford....you might see if it would work on the Hummer motor. One nice thing...its easy to get to.

Thanks CJ, yeah I remember that fiasco with the F-150s... just wasn't entirely sure whether a ford engine tool would work with a GM engine... could be worth finding out... but I'm kinda "dead in the water" right now and can't work on the 3 today because it is pouring down rain... Mother Nature does not want me to get my Planet Killer back up and running...

This is what broke off yesterday... everything south of that very important nut is still in the engine block... (The threads), Went out in between rain storms to try again with the extractors (After cooling down from last night ), and it's the same story, the extractor wont bite in either direction that I turn... Guess I've just gotta take the bullet and say that I'm S%$t outta luck till Monday... Just glad that it's the weekend, work less than 5 miles from home... Just hope that Monday It'll be fixed and I can drive it again...

Broken plugs are a bitch. One of the reasons why I try to replace plugs before 75k. You can try to drill it and extract or weld a nut to the end of the plug

Soak that bitch overnight in PB Blaster...and use an easy-out on it. Easy outs work good especially on stuff bigger than 1/4 inch.

Thanks, chaos, definitely a bitch... tried every possible solution that has been suggested to me by auto parts places, lowes employees, etc... Sucker is not wanting to come out... Luckily my mom is letting me borrow her new Jeep to get to work till Monday.

Thanks 4speed... yeah, I can give it a try tomorrow... but I'm about tapped out. Don't think I'm gunna do something like this again on my own... will probably just leave it to a trained "professional"... atleast I can say that I almost know how to do it on my own, and that I'm theoretically running on 4 1/2 cylinders.

Finally got the H3 back from a day with the morons at the mechanics shop here in town... Fricken idiots tried to come up with all matter of things that were wrong with my 3... but they did get the plug out and put the new one in and it seems to be a bit more spirited then what it did... (Driving better/as good as it was before this low power problem) Just glad to have it back up to snuff and home... NOW on back to saving for my bottomless list of mods. :woot:

It's good to know when your whipped and get help before doing more damage.

Maybe it was over torqued? You do torque your plugs?

In engines with tight specs I learned that the wrong torque can change several things, for the worse.
Not sure what the clearance is on an I-5 but be careful.

There is lots of stuff going in there.

Notice the raised dome on the piston?

Yeah, Thanks Hunner.
The plug that broke was torqued on WAY too tight by a dealership that we took it to when we were freaking out about the misfire about 2 years ago... Suffice to say, we don't go to that dealership anymore... But instead of me stopping and hitting the seized/over-torqued plug with pb blaster or whatever, I went at it with brute force and ended up with half a plug... Atleast I've got it back and it's driving well enough with the new plugs, that's all that I was worried about... Having my vehicle back before the snow hits...

Thanks RamRod, looks good but was a nightmare getting in... Have to make a new bracket for the control box because my grille blocks the controller plug in... Gunna be angled forward slightly... But still looks good even now. :)

Got some N-Fab Wheel to Wheel step bars "installed"... Was tired of ripping my pants every time I'd go to climb/jump in.

A quick review of these things... THEY SUCK... Quality and looks are good but the fitment is the worst I've ever seen. (Kinda like a one size fits all GM vehicles thing) Had to force the holes to line up... Unbolt the brake clip thing by the rear driver's tire and jimmy rig it around the rest of the brake line just to get it close enough to the bolt holes... And it still doesn't fit, rubs and squeaks soo badly that the radio turned all the way up doesn't drown out the sound... But they do look good... Guess what I'm trying to say, DO NOT BUY THESE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLEY AND HUMMER... (I know guys, rock sliders are the way to go or nothing at all but I couldn't afford them nor the cost of a pair of jeans every time I go for a drive haha, plus I don't really have plans to go through boulders like at Moab... I'm more of a basketball sized rock crawler. :giggle:)

Also are the bolt holes/ brake line placement on the 2009-2010 H3's different in some way? Because I went to a bunch of different site, trying to find instruction to see what I missed since I didn't get any in the box, and read that these only fit those years... I didn't think that GM changed anything about the bolt holes where the steps go or the brake line location?

I feel you... ruined my khakis. How thick are they and what are they made out of?

Hey Derian, yeah, and now even with em' on I still step up higher... Guess I got soo used to jumping/high stepping that it's weird using a step? They won't stop a boulder too well but for the wheeling and prius crawling I do, they will protect some... They are a bit thicker than the tin foil steps we all got from GM... And their stainless steel (I think, steel something) with your choice of textured black or in my case, Gloss black (Didn't get a choice) But I think that I've figured out part of the problem, the driver's side mounting brackets are rubbing my brake line plus the brackets on both sides are coming into contact with the body just under/behind the plastic rocker panel, soo I'm gunna have to drill or cut some holes in the mounting brackets to give the brake line some wiggle room... Then maybe I won't have to hear soo much creaking and groaning...

And you could justify a body lift now to solve the rocker panel rubbing!

Haha, yeah... if I had the courage to put one on... not sure how difficult that would be though... does that lift everything up except the frame?
If it lifts the frame it would be called a suspension lift. But yes, it lifts everything except the frame and whatever is sitting/attached to it (engine trans suspension...)
