SAS history

This thread is intended at a historical documentation of SAS builds. This will include H3s and H2s. I will do my best to keep this updated as new builds surface/are discovered. A lot of this was already assembled by @06 H3 . Builds evolve, so the information in there will be whatever is available currently.


1. First up, the White rhino! This may possibly be the first H3 SAS knows to man. Where did it come from, who built it? nobody knows. It has been previously posted on here by the owner, but that has but no updates since.
Anyway, it had leaf springs front and rear, and a lot of quirks.

2. Next up the Bully Dog build. Featured a Duramax diesel, atlas, and dana 60s.

3. Next up is the infamous recon h3 slant back build. Fairly certain everyone has seen this build.
2008 H3 alpha, built by offroad evolution.

4. Also done at offroad evolution, the first SAS H3t.

5. CJ (@4speedfunk ) started pioneering the low buck junkyard axle builds, with his being the guinea pig
DIY, ABS working, 3 link, coils, GM dana 44.

6. Next up is the infamous @06 H3 aka squeaky, sporting the THORparts DIY kit.
This build as we all know has changed a lot over the years. Currently on a kingpin Dana 70, Eaton H072, 3 link F/R, coilovers, NP205 w doubler, etc

7. Unknown H3, coilovers and links F/R, custom genright gas tank in the back

8. Dixie 4wd in Utah built a SAS h3, Dana 44 front with a Dana 60 rear, no pictures currently

9. Geno's H3t, THORparts first in hour build with the standard 3 link, coils, Dana 44, SOA rear

10. Panzers build. 3 link, coils, dana 44, THORparts DIY kit. 42" tires

11. SAS from down unda! SAS built in Austrailia, right hand drive, Dana 44, coilovers. Road legal

12. Ricks black H3t, started with a THORparts DIY kit. Dana 60s, coilovers front and rear, 3 link front, 4 link rear

13. My (cgalpha08) THORparts in house build. 3 link, coils, dana 44
Now sitting on coilovers, dana 60 , 14bolt and 40s

14. Mark (mutaint) with a THORparts in house build. 3 link, retubed HP 44, coils.

15. Russian SAS (patrol conversion) not much information available

16. Bobby Jarema's SAS H3t

17. Tyler Varnon, started as a leaf sprung front, changed to 3 link and coils, GM Corp 10b

18. Josh @4Lo-Tank H3t, another THORparts in house build Rockbouncer HP 44, 3 link, coils, 40s

19. Steve @Reloader 3 link, coilovers, dana 44

20. Randy @rascole built by steve 3 link, coilovers, dana 44

21. Unknown owner/history Dana 60, coilovers all around

22. Vay @Vdawg1115 came with the beef. Crane axle 14b front and rear. 3 link, king coilovers, 40s.

23. Unknown owner in Indianapolis, another in house THORparts build 3 link, coils, dana 44

24. Robert Jackson from the great white north with another THORparts DIY kit. 3 link, coils, dana 44

#8 was owned by the social media “influencer” themanspot. He got divorced and sold a bunch of stuff, now that h3 is in eastern Idaho

30. Geno's matching red h3 SAS. Unknown origins, made it's rounds on Facebook marketplace before he got it. 3 link, dana 44.
