Hey guys I was just wondering if any of you have ever ran those old buckshot mudders on your hummer? (My father was talking about them on his old truck and I was seeing if any of you ran these or if it's even possible)

Those buckshot mudders are really noisy, and I think, hard to balance. I've never had a problem with the BFG ATs. They're a top quality tire. As for winch and bumper, I chose Warn 9000XD and a DOI front bumper (Defelice Offroad Innovations). It's similar in look only to the factory bumper, but a hundred times sturdier. the finish and fit are perfect. I also went with Thor Parts rear bumper. It's heavy built, as well.

I went with OEM UCP and OEM rock sliders. AND, I went with the Gobi Stealth rack. No regrets.

Oh! I also did the scorpworks cross member upgrade and the steering rack bracket. A must.

The reason i ask is because my father used to run them on his old 82' Toyota. He said they were the best set of tires he purchased but they were hard to find and they were noisy he didnt mention anything about the balancing of them tho. He did say they don't wear quickly at all. I've seen some reviews on that off-roader site and ppl say nothing but good stuff about them. So that might be in consideration for tires. Thanks for the feedback tho

Theyre a skinny tire he said but they are tall so i don't know if it would rub too badly. I can list the size if one of yall could be able to tell if i could run it without a 4' lift? Here's the tire size P78-16 6 PLY BUCKSHOT MUDDER BLK TL and here's a picture if anyone was wondering

those look loud, short life and a little skinny, you should be fine from what i read and a lot of guys are running 315 75 16 with no lifts. i'm going with that size next.

Yeah but how much mud riding do you do to justify buying those? Maybe a spare set?

tread design has come a long ways since those tires were first built. While I'm a huge fan of gumbo mudders, I think for a vehicle that spends any more than 10% of its time on-road; Toyos, Dunlops, Kelly all make great tires that last forever yet are very good off-road.

how old is that design.... they were making them before I was born in the 60s.... they used to be the ONLY option if you wanted a lifted rig tire....
