While I was installing Windows 8 on the carputer today I pulled the column apart to look at it.
You will need to take the cover off the column. There are 3 torx head screws. Use a credit card or other sturdy piece of plastic between the top and bottom to separate them. Now, I know the cylinder is different if you have an automatic transmission, but on mine there is a round black plastic piece on the opposite side from where the key is. Remove the two screws and unplug the wiring harness. Turn the key to run and you can remove the plastic piece then hose it down with electrical cleaner.
