Carfax is semi useless... sometimes things don't get updated for a year or so, so reports can be all over the place.

I know on my H1, I got it with a few carfax notes, mostly service and maintenance. Of course AFTER I purchased it.. a year later I wound up getting a collision report on my Hummer dating from just before I picked it up. Which was awesome..

My friend was sideswiped in his jeep wrangler over in Culver City. The damage wasn't too bad but it spent a few weeks in the shop getting everything fixed/replaced, and once he got the Jeep back he traded it in right away on a new car while the car fax was still clean. The dealer didn't ask during trade in and he didn't tell.. I believe that's fairly common.

Also... if you pay ma and pa out of pocket to fix it.... nobody knows.

Carfax is real useless. 35 items on a report should be telling to anyone though. At best things that should show up don't. If things are there you can almost bet there is more. I think I like the CarFox better than Carfax.
