DO NOT BUY THIS H3T! It may look beautiful and I am a sucker for black vehicles but dont buy it...I was poking around on the other forum for the first time in months and found a thread stating this:

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/d...&first_record=76&cardist=5652&captcha=success

I have been checking the net every day in search of the late "Recovery Unit". I checked last night with no success. So today I did my search and I finally found it!!
woot.gif
I checked the VIN number and it is a 100% match.

The dealer gave me $17k for it in bone stock condition and I was thrilled with that because of the abuse that I knew was on it. Now it made it's way to Illinois and is at a dealer which is selling some pretty nice cars! They are asking $26,977 which is CRAZY. Probably because all of the money they had to put into it. I had to laugh at their one line in the listing also...

We meticulously select, fully inspect and service all vehicles in our state of the art service facility. Warranties come with every vehicle, and extended programs available. Low bank rate financing, trade-ins welcome. Please call for details.

I'm glad they don't know what really happened to that truck!!!

I should e-mail them and ask them if they want additional pictures, seeing is that they don't have any posted! BWAHAHAHA! If anyone is near by to Carol Stream Illinois, it should be there at Auto Showcase of Carol Stream. Now I have a new link to watch out for. I can't wait to see pictures of it and what it looks like now.

I never had issues with the guys over there so I tried not to judge but this is proof of an *******! C'mon dude...If you knew you abused the truck and traded it in thats one thing. Live with yourself for ****ing someone over but now you gotta go around on the forums bragging about how you beat the snot out of a SUPER RARE truck and laugh about how you got away with it!?!? Where is your integrity? Rare or not dont go around bragging how you got away with this. I just would hate to see someone end up with this truck filled with problems so dont buy it...

Any mods feel free to delete this if it brings their negativity to our wonderful forum, I understand and wont be offended. Just want to make sure no one buy this rig.

Some more posts from him on the thread:

I was just wondering if they paid close to that at auction, or if it after all the work they had to do to it in order to sell it.

It has been well maintained! Dealer serviced every 3-5 thousand miles. But the history behind it is correct!!! I bet if I sent them pictures of it in it's prime, they would drop the price A LOT!
lmao.gif
They might even pay me off so they never surface again. Or they might have a law suit against me because of the pictures.

Honestly it was in great condition as far as looks goes. No dents or major scratches, just a few scrapes under the truck, but what average person is going to look at the under side of the truck? That will be a dead give away if they do. The interior was clean and had no rips or tears in the seats. I buffed the paint before I traded it in and for what it looked like before, the after was better than when I bought it. Also, NO swirl marks in it at all. The front bumper/ skid plate were brand new, the shocks were brand new, Battery box was new, air intake was new, and it also had brand new tires too! Someone will think it's a brand new vehicle until they drive it. I would imagine they did some work on it. Stupid me though, I traded in my Silverstar bulbs with it. I could have put them in my mom's truck and put the factory lights back in there. I just want to see the pictures of it because I wonder if they put a new grille on it or not. They probably didn't like the custom bed liner on it.
lmao.gif

Oh man, I remember those stories! I think once that I see it sell, I will remove this little thread! BWAHAHAHA! But I'm sure they are fixing it up right now. It is up to 33 Carfax records already. I'm sure it will keep growing too. Hey, they can't win them all!

It was a sweet truck. I really liked it...I am not sure but with carfax up to 33 repairs and more coming says something. I dont really know...I was just kinda surprised about bragging on how you beat on it and then act like your a badass that you get away with it.

Obviously people handle things the way they want but I feel it could of been handled better. Just hope no one buys it if its got that many problems.

Just wait, you'll be talked about over there, no biggie been there, Lmao. Thing is though, how many trucks have been wheeled on a lease or traded in. Not the first and definitely not the last. Yeah, not being upfront with it is messed up. But it happens. And sad to say some sucker will buy it thinking it is perfect. Might have to list mine soon, work issues. But I would be upfront with it. Yeah mine has been wheeled. And as they say Karma is a bitch!! It will catch up sooner or later. Saw the post and Jessie is worried about a lawsuit about it. What a joke! Enough said. Karma as we all know here is a bitch! Ask the main guy there

If the day ever came up where I had to sell mine I'd let them know it's been wheeled too. Hope yours doesn't have to sell man! That would suck but your always welcome to wheel with me I'll even bring the grease gun

Let them talk. There are still some cool people there that I respect but there are plenty others that arent my cup of tea. it makes me chuckle that I have to wait 25 seconds to read the rules before entering the forum. If I was a newbie that would turn me away and I recommend the big guy over there to read his own rules.

And if this thread offends the previous owner of this rig he is more then welcome to messaging me or call me.

Caveat emptor I don't see any problem with him selling it. Plenty of vehicles get treated rough and sold for less than a similar vehicle in prestine condition. It's up to whoever buys it to check it out. There are very few things that are required to be disclosed when a vehicle is sold. If the dealer that ended up buying it made repairs in good faith, then again I don't see the problem.

I guess it is all up to the individual and their ethics. If the buyer didn't ask that is one thing. If he asked and didn't get the truth then there is a problem. Personally when I sell a vehicle I make sure there is nothing wrong with it. In the H1 world many people sell their trucks when they need lots of work because they really can't afford the truck in the first place. They run it out as far as they can and then sell them. That is why lots of people buy them and have to dump 4-5K in them right away. The broke taking advantage of the ignorant.
No problem with putting out a heads up on a well used truck. Personally I don't think the use matters if the truck is kept up. If some broke dick can't pay the tab then that is a different matter.

What was the point of this thread?

Well it should of been "Hey don't buy this truck, it's been wheeled hard..."

This just started unnecessary drama on both forums that already have their differences.

I agree it is a very rare truck, but what's the point of babying a truck....Thats meant to be used, I got to give him props on how hard he wheeled his truck! I hope to be able to wheel my H3 that hard some day. Thats what their meant for anyway!

I do feel bad for who ever buys. However anyone with some what of a smarts when it comes to cars/trucks can tell it has been "rode hard and put wet". Just by looking at the carfax or the underbody. I imagine it will sit on the lot for a long time for that reason. I hope it is not someone that doesn't about cars/truck that buys it and thinks HUMMERs are built bad. We can only hope a wheeler buys it that knows what he is doing. Maybe drops a solid axle under their or custom ifs....redo all the drive train and some other stuff. Now that would be great. We can only hope though...

As far as his attitude....meh....Honestly I don't think that effects the buyer...I do agree he was trying to be a hardass kinda...

I think the main point of the OP was that this was " that " truck. I have no problem buying a truck that has been wheeled/wheeled hard, but I am going to pay for it based on present condition. As long as people are informed, or not misled buyers then so be it. Anyone buying that truck should know and /or be able to tell that it has been wheeled and wheeled hard. Outside of that, no problem. If Jesse didn't misrepresent the truck when he sold it he doesn't have anything to worry about. If the buyer didn't know enough to ask the right questions, look or bring someone with him knowledgable enough to tell then most of the onus is on the buyer. I have trucks I wheel and trucks that I don't wheel. I do make the distinction when I sell one. I also provide all documentation with the truck. Mikkel got a 3 ring binder with a copy of every service/part receipt that I got when I bought the truck and that covered stuff I had done to the truck. There were no secrets. That is how I sell my trucks because it helps me get maximum money out of them. I also have nothing to worry about people finding out because I have every truck I sell taken care of before I put it up for sale.

My point of the thread was to say dont buy it...but with a link of a super clean truck people would probably question why shouldnt I buy it. T's are extremely rare and some may even buy over the phone due to rarity. To prevent that I showed proof, that is all. why should someone believe me, some random guy on a forum, about what I think the condition of the truck is without proof. That is why I linked it all...not to start drama.

I give him props to wheeling hard. "Wheeling hard" is all about perception. I will not say I "wheel hard" compared to people who do the rubicon or tough moab trails but I can say I put mine through its paces and everyone would know that if I was to ever sell. I wouldnt crack jokes about the next person owning it is going to have issues.

Different day, same **** and stirrer of the ****! I heard that it was the same ****-stirrer, a former **** stirrer here, that got people fired up over there by posting Chris' post from here over there. Oh well, there's a reason why he was banned over here, but for someone who was banned here, he obviously likes to read every post here and stir up **** over there! Like I said, different day, same **** & stirrer of the ****! That said, there are some good people over there, including some of our good members from here, so no need to go over there and create drama there, because that just creates drama here. Make sense, it does to me and thank you to our great members here for making this my HUMMER home!

This thread is probably just fueling the fire, and isn't helping anything. Everyone has an entitlment to their opinions, and it would not be bad to say buyer beware due to its off road history, but in the manner of not fueling the fire, I think we should just put the thread to rest. Im not trying to pick sides, and havent talked to him personally, or forumly, so I don't have any experiance. But from what people say here, and if anyone says anything on the other forum, its the dealers issue now. I am sure some on this forum have had experiances with him, good or bad. A simple, watch for this or watch for that / buyer beware would be good. But again, everyone does have an entitlment to their opinion, and me, being me, I just hate all the drama. I do not want to start anymore drama, but just posting my opinion to the thread.

I'm lost. He only got $17K for his truck. Sounds about right for a rolling chassis H3T. What did he do that was so bad or unusual to his former truck?

Lets look at my history. I have never started drama between the two forums or between anyone over there until today. I do not consider myself a drama starter. This I will agree with, went against what I usually do but what I posted was for a reason. I know most dont agree and thats fine, my intentions were for one reason and thats to avoid someone on here getting into a bad truck.

The reason I posted was that I saw a truck for sale with the owner bragging about how it has problems, fixed or not by the dealer is unknown but I let everyone know what they can possibly be getting themselves into. After seeing the pics of a clean truck it may seem tempting. H3Ts are rare and due to the rarity of them I believe people are more willing to buy online and never see the truck seeing it can be sold quickly.

Whats wrong with it? I still dont know. With 33 carfax reports and counting as he said. Who knows. I also posted his posts because I know people will ask whats wrong and I posted it all here so they could see the comments he made before he deleted them. He was the one who said it looks nice and then when you drive it thats a different story.

Hate me or not because of this is fine. I know I dont normally start problems and my intentions werent to start drama it was to inform and others had to stir the pot.

All for free speech but why not just post a warning, I can go read the posts on my own & already have. He traded his truck in the dealer saw how it was & took it anyway, I have a bigger problem with the dealer taking it in trade then sending it to auction where it gets sent half way across the us so they don't have to deal with it anymore. Like Steve & others said buyer beware, that's what Carfax is for. Ya his truck was beat up but if I recall right most of it was covered under warranty which shows on the Carfax if the current dealer is legit they'll give that to a prospective buyer. I won't comment on his posts but that attitude is why I don't post there any more

Edit can a mod move this to the firepit where it belongs as it's not for sale here or at least the online finds section

Lets look at my history. I have never started drama between the two forums or between anyone over there until today

SO WHY START NOW if you read all his post the dealer he traded to saw what looked liked & agreed to take in as trade AGAIN POST A WARNING OK we can go read his posts there for our selves. Is he bragging about beating up the truck ya but aren't you the one that wants to jump yours. IMHO its the whole pot & kettle story I put my T through it's paces but I do or pay for the extra maintenance on & felt lucky when I had a half shafts & front R&P replaced under warranty. Pretty much my fault as I was climbing a hill & had the front wheel bounce up over a rock, told the dealer (not a ex hummer shop just local cbevy place) exactly what I was doing & they didn't even blink no questions fixed under warranty

Has his ex truck been rode hard ya but is yours a mall crawler?

Chris, I think everyone appreciates the heads up on a truck that may have a history or issues. I have bought several trucks sight unseen from long distances and have relied heavily on the knowledge and integrity of the seller. ( plus lots of pictures and making a few extra phone calls ) I have yet to be burned but I have asked the right questions and passed on far more trucks than I have bought. You are correct in thinking that this is a truck that someone might buy long distance. Seeing that it is now at a dealer half way across the country it is likely the dealer is totally ignorant of the history of the truck ( outside of what a multi-page CarFax report should tell him now )
Unfortunately there is some tension between a few members of each forum that seems to heat up at the slightest provocation. Fortunately most people just don't care. I count myself in the last group. I have too much real stuff going on to play imaginary games on the net with people I haven't met and never will.
Words out on the truck. Lets put this to bed and move on.
