Just got back from Hawaii today and found my letter, I was denied on the grounds of insufficient GC statement. I cannot appeal, I would need to do that within 10 days in writing, and I was on vacation. I can try again in one year, or say screw it and move to Arizona! :)

Wondering what insufficient GC statement means? I'm looking to apply for my CCW for California in Riverside
county. I want to make sure I have all my Ducks in a row. :( Sad to hear about the denial letter. I thought Kern was one of the easier counties. Oh I know someone who can get you qualified for a Utah permit with no cost, but he's in Laguna Woods.

Got my Texas CCW last week. I don't think anywhere in CA is easy, some places just might grant you a CCW while most won't. Kern county probably is one of the easier places in this screwed up place.

My GC statement simply did not fall within the guidelines for issue. I was confident in my statement, but know I know. If you read the CalGuns forum there are folks there who can critique your GC and give you tips. I did that; but even with feedback there was something they did not like :-(
