I finally decided on the new car. Put money down on a new 2011 4Runner Trail Saturday. I found the perfect car ironically enough at Boulder. After searching the country for this exact car with what I wanted I check out Boulder toyota and wouldn't you know it the only Trail 4Runner they had was this. Has everything but the Navigation, but with the help of my trusty Garmin, I'll be fine. Has a bunch of goodies that i can't wait to hit the trails with. Including a locking rear diff, crawl control, hill assist, Skid plates, KDSS, tow package and more. 270 hp and 278 lb and gets 17/23 mpg, thats huge for someone coming from avg. 12/14 mpg. It has 9.6 in. of clearance, but after some new tires that number will increase (havn't decided on tires yet). This will be my daily driver, but i still plan on putting some protection on it. The parts list, is a list of parts i'm looking at, if any of you have had experience with these brands though, feedback is always nice. I am new to the toyota community, so i have not had the change to find a good forum yet.

Future mods:
1.) Rock Rails --------------------- Rocky Road Super sliders
2.) New Tires --------------------- TBD
3.) Rear Diff Breathers ----------- TBD

6.) Skid Plates 6 piece combo --- Bud Built

7.) Aux. Lights --------------------- Light Force 170 Striker HID (2)
8.) Cold Air Intake ---------------- TRD Cold Air Intake
9.) Winch Mount ------------------- Bud Built Hidden winch mount
10.) Winch ------------------------- Warn M8000

Warn, Light Force and MagnaFlow are all good brands. Not familiar with the others. Great looking new ride. Looking forward to your impressions and comparisons.

Nice! That will make for a great daily-driver - smooth, quiet ride. That's what I traded in when I got my 3T (but mine was not the Trail model). Like Dave said, I'm lloking forward to your comparisons, especially on the trail impressions.

thanks everyone, i can't wait for all the paperwork to be done and to finally pick it up. Oh and yes, its a very boulder friendly truck, definitely the most fuel efficient vehicle i've ever owned. But the most important thing is i can't wait to take it out onto the trails. I hear the japanese can make a few decent off-roaders, so i can't wait to put that to the test.

Timgco, haha yea you are welcome to, i've seen some pretty badass looking lifted 5th gen. 4runners. But i think that is one thing i still wont do to this. But i'll definitely throw some money into protection, so in time it will be a pretty sweet looking truck

Looking forward to seeing this evolve, it is good to hear that the 4Runner is back closer to its roots than the last generation.

Toyotas run forever. I had an '04 4Runner Limited that was fully loaded before I got my first H3 Alpha. It had a Borla SS dual exhaust system that was installed and supported by the South East Toyota distribtors. It had the V8 engine and sounded great. Also got 21-23 highway mpg. Your's looks great....hope you enjoy it!

Does it come with a Prius in the trunk? ;)

Enjoy the new ride -- they are a good looking SUV for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing your build progress.

Those are awesome good choice. If I ever replace the T thats the direction I want to go. 4Runner or a used landcruiser. This might interest you. Its a complete build up of a 4Runner by ARB. Looks darn good. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/64044-ARB-4Runner-Build

Thanks for that for roughly about 10k, they really made that into a sweet rally truck. I really like the front ARB winch bumper set up too. Maybe down the road ill remove the pre-runner bar and put that on. :)

yea i think ill save the big money for the H1. Keep the small stuff for the 4runner. But i will admit i could make this look pretty bad*ss if i wanted :horns:. But yea with all the skiing i wanna do out here idk how favorable my account would like those sort of expenses haha
