Well... It's all started in 2007 i was looking to get H1, but after looking it over decision was made to get H2 (H1 did not look like comfy EVERYDAY ride). And having 2 other car payments I was not about to pick up another one with out damping one of the cars. On chopping block was my leased 2007 BMW M6 (no one was using that car). As you might imagine deal did not go through ( I was't willing to drop 20K to get rid of the car). So that ended my first attempt to buy H2.

Fast forward to August 2008. GM was on the brink of closing down, gas was $5/gal and no one was buying V8's plus H2 fell out of "Soccer mom" favorite ride. Then I thought:hthink: "If I don"t get H2 now, I probably newer will".

So I looked at Costco auto program and went to Weseloh hummer in San Juan Capistrano (closed 2 month later).

I told guy that I wanted 0% for 72month and I was trading in my 2003 Silverado with 165,000mil and slipping trany (I did't say anything about trany).

While first dealership was working on my deal I went to another dealership, from 2007, and tried to make a same deal there. Second dealership wasn't able to push 0% through, but they offered me 2003 H2( Lease return) with 32,000 mil for 28K and 6 or 8% apr.

After doing some calculations :hthink:difference between '08 and '03 wasn't worth it. So in September 2008 I got myself an H2 LUX. It was a plane H2 with no steps, no grilles, no roof rack.

Its quite okay. I even have pictures when Bessie had mud flaps and steps on still.

So lets continue, newer being involved in off road community before I tried to do some mods that I deemed needed for off road.

As you can see I added: Aries SS front over hood brush guard, light pod, aluminum roof rack,Aries SS step ladder,SS tail light guards and steps.

Thats what I call "chromed " stage.

By Jan 2009 I added: BA front lower bumper with MM 9,5K winch, Toyo 37x13,5x18 tires, 18x9 Moto Metal wheels and CB radio.

Thanks for bumping this up. I've been meaning to take a peep into the craze of "Serge's H2." Never met Serge, but you can see the name Serge all over the Hummer forums. I hope this thread will continue. If not, will someone please post a link to the full build thread?
