actually, that is a winch that they used to pull the car out.


my problem with that video (it's been floating around the 'net for awhile).... where is the rope going that's being pulled up? I'm starting to think that there is a winch laden vehicle that's been photo-shopped out.
Ever try to pull something on ice? two guys are able to put all 400 lbs of their weight into that board? ummmm :no:

where the forces are the greatest, right at the pin, a 4000 lb vehicle being supported by a 4x4? maybe if there's a steel rod in the middle of it? but it still doesn't overcome the basic physics - even in Russia.

No sure that all 4,000lbs is being pulled, vehicle looks partially buoyant and its on ice so the resistant/friction and mass due to gravity are all greatly reduce. Video maybe fake, but I say it is plausible.
