Vehicle Dream Project

I'm pretty sure everyone has some that are like rebuilds and what not, hell I want to rebuild a 69 Chevelle from the ground up and stick a 454 in it. But a dream project that I want but will never happen is to get a early 90's S10 extended with box body and also a late 80's SS Monte Carlo. See where this is going yet? The goal would be to put the front end, hood, cut out the front door window frame, rear side window, mirrors, tail lights and inside guts on the S10 from the Carlo. But why in the hell??? Because it's never been done that's why!!!!
[h=3][/h]I'm a big fan of boxy body styles and would love to chop the roof down to the point it on my head. I really mean make this S10 into a Carlo with the paint from the factory, get a bed lid and swoop in the rear end with spoiler and everything. How awesome would it be to pull this off? The front end just like a Carlo but it has a bed. I know, I know but that's why the El Camino is there for. To me GM went about it all wrong and no one would ever real use it as a truck and also keeping as a one body thing the line didn't flow right. I don't I just might be crazy but one day I would like to make this happen.

What are some off the way projects you guys want to take on some day?

Well not much of the car savoy back ground but I would love to take any car and be able to say I built that! Now if a can choose my future ill have a son who is with me and we build his first car! This way he appreciates things more and dot be an ungrateful kid like the ones today. But yea build a car....

I found a 1958 Buick when I went to my grandpa's funeral nearly 9 years ago...


that is what a restored one looks like, but I would deff resto mod mine!

Air bags, tinted windows big solid aluminum rims (no design cut out, no spokes... just rim)

Updated HID projector lights in the head lights, mustang II front end, rear discs..... clean and clear sound system!

It has been difficult, but I may have convinced the owner to sell it so me this summer... I'll find out for sure in July!!

Have a couple in mind. One I'm working on (my offroad/expedition truck).

Eventually I'd love to make carbon fiber or fiberglass replicas of old muscle cars (or hell, a VW Beetle!) that look stock but weigh significantly less. Would be tons of fun at the drag strip trolling kids in their imports.

Sounds like an interesting project. Personally, I am into sleepers. I would build a 4.3L and try to find the Psyclone suspension.

I have done my share of bizarre engine swaps though. I helped a friend drop an Olds Quad-Four into a first gen Chevy Sprint. The most fun was putting an aluminum 440 into an old Metropolitan.

I'll be watching to see how yours goes!

Here's my 69 El Camino with a modern LS1 engine. Same guys that helped me with making the H3 bodywork, helped with this. This actually was done before my H3. Got rid of all the pinch welds and door handles.

It has 65 El Camino tail lights and integrated rear bumper. Euro license plates and additional rear lights were incorporated into the bumper.

Cleaned up engine compartment. Even brake master cylinder was moved to inside the dash.

Lamborghini Murcielago Brembo brakes. Got these for free when I was freelancing with Brembo on a break upgrade project on the Murcielago. These were the OEM leftovers.

Colors were done to match my Harley.

I was always wanted to design and build by own street legal go-cart. Something along the lines of Arial Atom or the KTM X-bow... When Atom came out, I was like... damn, some one stole my dreams

That is kind of odd, I have a similar dream that will probably never happen. Mine is to take a S10 Xtreme truck and blend in the rear clip from a Z06 Corvette. The bed would have a lid.

The frame would be modified and set up to use maybe the corvette suspension.

Power would be from a twin turbo GM V8 in the 8-900 hp range. Not sure which block yet. Drive train would be AWD.

Oh, and it would be red with a flat black modest cowl on the hood and some flat black streaks on the sides. I would call it the Hurricane, ala the GMC Syclone and Typhoon

My dream vehicle is a HUMVEE C-series with all the options (CTIS, lockers, etc) and a Duramax / 6 speed Allison drive train, extra batteries, extra high capacity alternator and all my radios installed. I'd then also add H1 doors (not sure if they'd fit but, hey, this is just a dream anyways LOL) to get electric windows. I'd want to add LED light bars from Rigid Industries and of course a winch.

I would prefer the model with doors. It would be awesome to drive this to work on the 405 during rush hour traffic.

DAMN now I really do have to make it big one day!!!! Also beautiful bike, I'm hoping it get my MC license soon and buy a mid 2000's HD sportster nightster 883. The goal would to be no more the $5,000 because it'll be my first bike and I know I'm going to drop it or something. Blacker is better in my book.

Would you have any photos on what your talking about? I would really like to get a better idea of your goal.

Now how does those work? Is it just the body and other parts you need but you have to have the fame and engine type of deal? I know Extreme 4X4 had a HMMWV kit and put it on a late 80's 4x4 fame.

I seen a crazy bug that was stretched with the roof chop and it just look mean as wheel with the longer wheel base.

Yep. Saw a Chevy El Camino/Ute prototype driving home one day . . .

I really got excited with the thought of the El Camino returning.
