I blew the front dif.on my "T" in Moab last week. Pulled the driveshaft. I have nothing in 4hi only in 4hi loc and 4low loc.Is that the way the T case works or Is something broke in the T case. I drove a thousand miles that way hopefully didn't do any damage to it. Thanks Also I am ISO a 4.56 front dif. if any body has one laying around

Without a front driveshaft you can only drive in 4 high lock or 4 low. Other wise the computer will go bonkers trying to figure out where to send the power. 4 high effectively locks the power split 50/50 front and rear.

Glad you figured out how to get it in 4 high lock so you could drive it - that sometimes throws people off once the front propshaft has been removed.

Totally normal. However it has nothing to do with the computer. The variable-split output in 4HI-Street is entirely mechanical.
I have several used AAM7-7s lying around. Some are blown...some not. PM me if you are interested and I can get you some info.

Yup, 4HI is actually just like AWD (which is in reality 1-wheel drive); open diffs front and back AND an open center diff inside the transfer case. 4HI Lock locks the transfer case diff so that both front and rear driveshafts get power.
