Thinking about buying a Fiat for the wife.

So I came across to this add. And the price for this thing seems pretty reasonable for the mileage and everything it comes with.
What you guys think. As well you guys have any sort of information about fiats, are they decent cars or just plain garbage
The mpg for them seems pretty good for it as well.

Yeah no kidding I seen them go for $11k for the same year and 10k more miles the other ones have a little more luxury but me and my wife don't care, anyways $8k seems pretty reasonable for only having 14 k mile, I really want to go check it out. Just need to research more about this vehicles first. And see if I fit in that thing as passenger I don't think I would wanna be seen driving that thing XP

Comfortable to ride in but just myself and a coworker on a weekend work trip had trouble cramming everything in there. Id imagine it would work quite well as a daily commuter. Some of my buddies have been buying the toyota yaris. I guess it's pretty cheap and gets amazing fuel economy

Not a fiat and sorta off topic but not really since theyre in the same category. My girlfriend just got a kia soul and its actually pretty sweet. The interior is super roomy and i fit in it comfortably at 6'4" haha. Pretty affordable too i would say

Get a Kia over a Fiat any day. Fiat is about the cheapest and lowest quality car made in Europe. My Mom was from Italy and I had to deal with those pieces of junk my whole life. Kia is actually a decent brand. Especially if compared to Fiat.

I've actually ridden in a soul. And I tough they were pretty decent cars...but I don't think they range less than $10k for a 2012...I'm really in no hurry of getting a car or her just taught this one was a price worth looking for.

they don't drop in price because they're reliable. Granted that one is a terrible color, however, I've rarely heard anyone give unqualified praise... most say "fun car but.... not reliable" or "fun but cheaply built." With that said, they'll have a cult following like any other similar car.

I'm building a 79 Fiat - I think they're well designed and their suspensions are pretty well designed...

my friend just bought a fiat and she seems to like it a lot. of course, she's a single girl who loves "cute" cars, so take that with a grain of salt. she had a mini cooper S, which I thought was a lot cooler than the fiat, but it was a lemon so she returned it to the dealership. she bought both of them used.

I just had a Fiat 500 for a rent car. I almost went back for a different car but I was in a hurry. I should have gone back. I didn't like anything about it.

Yeah the color is gay...but then again I won't be the one driving it. And if anything I can just go down to the auto shop and buy some black camo pain can and take care of the color lol. And I'm keeping that in mind...after all you get what you pay for.

The whole idea about this car being a lemon in my opinion is high since it is about 2 years old and only has 14,000 miles. But then again after test driving couple hours ago...it handle pretty good...all the gear shifted good and what not. And everything look well taken care of like if wasn't even used, but all that can be accomplish with a good washing lol.

They are tiny I agree and it feel like u are driving a 75's year car...but in bias whether I like it not...the wife liked it but, then again she would like anything that has 4 wheels as long as she get it lol. So the dilemma continues.

My wife also like a Kia forte that they had in the lot but it had about 40k more miles and about $2k more. I like the BMW i3 they had there for about 10k but it was with 95k miles which isn't too bad for an 07 since I almost have that many miles in my 3 and still handle like brand new

Don't let perception of quality (good / bad) influence your choice TOO much. Most car makers' quality has come a *long* way since FIAT was last sold in the US (1984 according to Wikipedia)

My wife is pretty understandable and flexible for that matter, she is happy and settles for what I can give her right now, I'm lucky that way...originally she wants a wrangler...but like I told her I can't afford one right now...no without compromising our finances and living quality...plus we need something with a higher mpg, it is getting old having to choose between wine or gas...anyways she really doesn't need a car since she doesn't work and is just a stay home home. But rather I want to get one for her so she doesn't get bored of being home as well she can move freely if she needs to.

If she wants a Fiat tell her she can pick any vehicle under the Chrysler/Dodge umbrella, since about the beginning of the year they're owned by Fiat and have a CEO who came straight from the Itallian company. The last time they tried to make a go of it in the States they made it about 5 years, horribly built cars that had huge mechanicle issues and bodies that began rotting after a couple of years.

Personally I would never buy that small of a vehicle for a loved one. I know they seem "cute" to them but they dont do well in accidents.
