It is going to take awhile for that rear end to grow on me. That is the weak point in the new design for me.
not many 0000000001 serial number cars make it into private hands but $1,000,000 is a lot of money for a production vehicle.

Yawn. Just another version of the same ole Vette format. All it needs is a late-fifties bald guy behind the wheel and a plastic blonde riding shotgun to complete the look. You can count on GM to dig-up and destroy a classic, vintage moniker like...STING-RAY! (remember the GTO?). Obviously GM still has no clue...a V8-powered RX-8 is not really what I'm after. Oh well, at least it has curves...something missing from the Vette since 82.

Oh yeah...I almost forgot:
Thank-you Hummer, Saturn, Pontiac, and the American taxpayer! Your liquidation and bail-out has made this new Stingray possible. :sigh:

I agree. Although I do resemble the remark "...late fifties bald guy..."

(For the record, I'm not bald, it's thinning; and I don't have a 'vette or the blonde, and I am MID-fifties) but I sure would enjoy having a Corvette. I really envy those guys with the blonde I mean the CORVETTE. A blonde would probably just kill me. I know my wife sure would! :whaa:

Too bad the new ‘vette’s are so expensive. Normal working stiffs like me can’t afford one.

True. Back in the 60s & 70s...if you really really wanted one...you could obtain a vette. And even though it was always a rich-boy toy...everybody respected the fact that you were driving one. It's always been a high-end car...but back then it was within reach. Nowdays, if you're driving a vette...you're just a rich old fart with too much money!

Don't feel bad...I just turned 46, and I remember the hey-day. I also remember a few Vettes that couldn't keep up with my 63 Impala SS.

Vet was always a pricy car to own but it stands with likes Vipers and Porches and priced fairly. It starts at $50K.
I was never a big fan of Vet and never wanted to own one so i don't care about price. But looking on it from the design perspective, it is a huge step for the Chevy... The 74 Stingray was the last good looking Vet made. After that it looked like it was designed by a 5 year old.
But I'm looking at that new Stingray, the lines, the style, the attention to details is incredible. you can actually park it next to some European car designs (like Ferrari, Lambo, Aston) and not to feel embarrassed about it.

Just look at the Shelby Aero... it is a hideous knock of of bunch of other supper cars.

I really like it. Biggest gripe I have heard from people is along the lines "the back end looks like a Camaro". To that, I would reply, "So?". The Camaro is a great looking car as well.

Well to keep it authentic, they could've made it 2 circles like on the old one.. But, then this was used and overused by sooo many other cars. This lights are very original for the Chevy brand. Nothing wrong with that... All of the BWMs got the same looking front end since the beginning.
