Saw this on the road today. WTH is this Chevy thing?

It does kinda look like a Holden Ute!

I'm guessing it had Mexico plates. I see a lot of weird vehicles we don't have with mex plates cruising around San Diego.

GM scrapped the idea of it with the bk. it's the Holden version. Have seen a few here, but not on the road. They were getting converted to a hearse

Chevy has little pick ups like that down in Baja for years . Chevy and Ford have had lots of little trucks and vans in Mexico for a long time . Datsun had a 4 door pick up in Mexico back in the 70's Low manufacturing ( a 4 wheel drive convention company ) brought one in to the U.S. back in the late 70's before anyone had ever seen a factory made 4 dr mini truck .

Well the ute has a trim package that has a corvette motor dropped in it.... Could you imagine that motor with no weight in the rear!

I spotted the rebadged Ute in LA on my way home from work one day back in 2011.
