I have leveled my 2007 H3 and it looks great. The only thing that I notice now is that it doesn't ride as smooth. I have been looking into shocks and such but I don't know what to get. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you get an alignment yet? You'll get many opinions on shocks. I have the Pro Comp es9000. Cheap and easy to install. The next ones I get will probably be Bilstein.

Rough ride after leveling is usually due to shock length. Many leveled H3s are driving around with the shocks "topped out" and this can cause a very harsh ride. Longer shocks or extensions will do the trick.
The other symptom leveled H3s exhibit is actually just the opposite...too much up travel (nose rise) and not enough bumpstop length (nose dive).
Either symptom has a lot to do with tire size, equipment (bumpers & winches) and static ride height. It may take some tinkering to find the sweet spot on your particular rig.

Do you still have the stock bump stops in? Made a world of difference when i put in the extended ones
Made a world of difference when I permanently removed the extended length ones [emoji6]. One of the main reasons for a poor ride is cranking the torsion bars too far, and getting the front end too high.

Haha mine rides great leveled, not over leveled in the front. Same height to fender. Of course it might have helped because my oem bump-stops looked like they went through a blender

I tried the extended bumps stops and hated it, removed them and reinstalled the oem ones. I would rather deal with nose dive, I usually stay between 22.75 - 23.

I need to do this, and then get an alignment. I feel like after adding the bumper, winch, and UCP I'm pretty much riding hard on my bump stops.

I'm at 23.5", 5100's, and Trail Duty extended bumps. I like the ride. It is not my daily driver so I can only say from the highway drives to/from the trail.

If you have the 5 cylinder h3 and put the alpha torsion bars on would it sit level at a stock adjustment?

How would you define "stock adjustment"? Considering most measure the adjustment as the height from center of hub to bottom of fender lip, then of course it would because you'd set both at whatever height you pick (stock is approx 22.25-22.5").

If you mean amount of bolt turns, or bolt threads visible, I don't think it's an exact standard.

Regardless, you can easily swap in the Alpha torsion bars into a I5 H3.

What I ment was would the alpha bars hold the truck level with the I5 without having to turn them in like you would with the I5 bars. Guess I wasn't clear enough, plus it was a question only. Not like I have any idea so sorry for your need to quote..........me

Once you swap in the new torsion bars you essentially are starting from scratch. Once the bars, keys, and bolts are installed you will have to just start the bolts threaded into the keys at a minimum distance. Measure hub to fender and adjust from there. There is no torque value to start or set them to. You turn until you are at the ride height you want.

All of this of course is relative to what you got mounted on the front end and if you put skyjacker ass end shackles on the rear causing even more weight shifted to the front.

Having spent many hours adjusting things so mine would not dive under braking and roll in corners I would say no one person can dictate what others may experience nor can they make an all encompassing statement that the extended front "springs" are not any good.

Having made my first set of lengthened springs or bump stops after many tests to determine proper length I will say I ran that set up with many other mods to achieve MY desired handling characteristics on my 06 and now my Alpha 08 with great results.

I have NEVER had what I would call a good ride out of my Hummer H3. Torsion bar adjusting is just a pain in the ass and no one ever gets it at the correct height without having issues with your camber. If you actually want your truck higher just go get the Rancho lift or do a solid axle swap. For the money I have spent on alignments I could have bought the Rancho kit and had someone else install it.

...GDH, there is a thing known as the Firestone Lifetime Alignment for about $160...$160 vs. Rancho lift for $2,300 + installation cost...just saying.

I loved the ride of my stock h3. I know we all have different preferences.

Firestone "lifetime" alignment is actually 3 in a year. I am on lucky number 7 this year. Yes I have replaced upper control arms, camber plates / bolts etc. Still not able to get alignment correct.

...not in my case. I have taken my 09 H3T in for a monthly (12 x year) Firestone lifetime alignment for the last 4 years.
