I have an 08 Alpha. My question is , there is a squeak that comes around when it gets cold. It isn't a belt, it has to do withe the suspension or body. I don't have to be rolling either. You can rock the truck from side to side and hear it. I have tried spraying the front sway bar bushings and end links with no success. Under the truck you can't even tell what side it is on. Its about to drive me nuts. Do you have any ideas? I was hoping it may be fairly common and and an easy fix. It sounds like it is metal on metal. My brakes are ok and again it only does it when it is about 50 degrees or colder for some odd reason.

The body mounts are prone to squeaking, especially if they got dirty from mudding. I believe there are 5-6 on each side and it may be good to spray them off.

Another similar squeak is in the rear leaf springs, especially in the front bushing. Mine was bad for a year or more. Once or twice I could actually get lubricant in there well enough to keep it quiet for a while, but it's worth the effort. Less common but still possible is squeaking between the leafs. Make sure none of the pads are missing between the leafs.

There was a great writeup that one of the forum members did, on some home made rubber bushing he made that help solve this problem. Turns out the preload on the factory body mounts is insufficient to keep it snug. This guys solution solves that and has a very detailed writeup. I can't find it using the cell phone search. Maybe somebody on a real computer can help post the link.

Thanks for the suggestions. Gonna try some of them today. Just me and WD40. Once I get it stopped I'll work on something a little more permanent.

X2 on the body mounts. My 08 H3 had that very issue and it sure was annoying.

Didn't hit the body mounts, but got the leaf springs pretty good with some lithium grease, at the same time I sprayed the rear sway bars links. So far no noise. Fingers crossed.

I had my leaf springs squeak and my body mounts squeak but now its all better. powerwashing the crud between the leaves did it for me.

Just got the new Rancho with the new rear springs installed. Squeak is gone. Halaluah!!!!!!!!

Another thing to check for others is the rear (and probably the front) stabilizer bar link bushings. New springs removed a lot of squeaking, but new drop link bushings removed the remainder of the (rear) squeaks.)
