H3T Sensor on the front of the rearview mirror...autodimming?

I'd like to mount a dash camera up there, but it looks like I'd be blocking this sensor. I assume it's for autrodimming the rv mirror and has to "see" the windshield.

This is the camera I like...discrete & mounts to the glass; no clunky suction cup mount.

I don't think it will affect the auto dimming much.
The sensor on the glass side of the mirror does most of the dimming. The one facing the windshield measures the light in front of the vehicle. If the is heavy traffic in front of you the mirror will not dim as much compared to bring on a dark road with no light in front of you.
To test it you can cover the windshield side and watch the mirror dim. It may take a couple minutes.

Thanks, I'll test it this evening to see if it makes any difference.
