..Daisy is not a happy camper today. Last night, we met a friend and their newly adopted dog. We had opted for a "neutral" place, a local restaurant, to avoid any territorial issues, etc. At first things were going well, the dogs were sniffing each other, both were wagging their tails and then suddenly, with no warning, the other dog bit Daisy's ear and took out a 1x0.5 inch chunk.

Daisy got her ear stiched up at the local emergency vet and was back home when the anesthesia wore off at 2 am.

It's kinda scary how quickly the other dog went from friendly, curious, tail wagging, to attack mode. It was all over in one second. Today, I'm racking my brain trying to see what I missed but I can't find anything. The other dog had stayed 3 months with a foster family and was not known to have issues with other dogs.

The good news is my friend stepped up and paid the emergency vet bill. I felt bad for him.... he was mortified and really sad about it all. To make matters worse, the emergency vet we had to go to, was where his other dog (a 3 YO pug) died 3 weeks ago.

So.. my main job today is spoiling Daisy rotten. She likes that.

When we adopted our two big dogs that is something we had to check for. A lot of dogs get along great with people but not so much with other animals.

Yup... The attacking dog had lived with a foster family for 3 months. You'd think they had screened for that and said something.....

that sucks, i'm sure you will be giving her plenty of TLC. she will get better and remember how you cared for her.

That really sucks! Sorry to hear about Daisy but she couldn't have a better friend to care for her. Keep spoiling her and she will be back 100% real soon. If Holyfield can get through it, so can Daisy!
