Removed Airdoc, but damage was already done

The steel intake tube on the airdoc transfers the i5 vibrations directly to the air intake box. Because of how tight it fits after the lift, the tube leading down to that tank below would always come loose, so I did what I thought was best and ziptied the tube in place. Over time, the vibrating, pulling and tugging pulled that round tank at the bottom out of its cradle.

Just a heads up so no one does what I did. Maybe get a 1" longer tube and avoid this whole scenario.

Maybe your motor mounts are worn out...my engine barely vibrates, only time i have notice the vibration is when first fired up in the morning for the first min or so.

Holy cow I hope that dust didn't do too much damage...
I had mine hose clamped on, hasn't moved once. Might be stronger than zip ties.

Yea the ziptie held its place, its the container its attached to that broke off its mounts.

Can someone explain what the function of this container is? A reservoir? Air cooling system?

Thanks Torres .. I replaced the mounts recently...
The vibration was so severe, you couldn't read the text on the airbox.

The weird part is, I noticed some power gains after putting back the oem intake. But I also cleaned the throttle body & sea-foamed the engine. Its still PcM tuned to the airdoc though.

Oh wow that's some bad engine shaking...mine did that only once but that was when one of the spark plugs went out...and it was misfiring that has been the only time my engine shake.
Sea foam works great you should consider a oil catch can to prevent all that oil going to your intake and throttle, but yeah indeed cleaning the throttle, air sensor, and sea foaming the truck unplug the battery to restar the computer, is the best you can do gain and notice some power.

Well at least your truck is back to normal.

Like magic huh? So the I5 actually likes to run rich not lean. 5-10% to be exact. Your pcm is still tuned to pump more fuel to off set the added air from the air doc to keep the AFR Stoich 14.7. But I bet you are closer to 13.5 right now. Enjoy the extra power.

Oh ya and that container is the egr intake, pumps air dirctly into the exhaust to keep emissions down. =useless.. Thinking on that... it shouldn't have any negative effect on your engine should dust have gotten in there. It would have been sent down the exhaust anyway

Im still running the airdoc on the I5. It vibrates alot (the airbox shakes alot and I get some noise inside the cabin at idle). Motor mounts are new and the throttle body is clean. Its just that the tubing is very stiff, no give at all so the slightest vibes at the engine side are translated and magnified at the airbox! I was gona remove it and go back to stock but the wife likes the fact it makes the engine sound like an engine, not a vacuum cleaner!

Like Airborne said, its just an air pump. If it sucks air or is not pumping out air it can supposedly throw a code, but I had that long hose disconnected for several months without a code or other bad effects.

Thanks for the notification. I have been running an AirDoc with a body lift for a while but have not noticed any damage. In the past, the frame-to-body bolts came loose. I actually had enough flex in the body to pull the AirDoc off the air box. Might want to also check the bolts, just in case.
