Well, it was time to retire the Hummer from it's daily driver routine that it has had for the past six years and 128,000 miles. I want to keep the H3 for a long time and putting 20,000+ miles on it each year is not conducive towards reaching that goal. So, in the interest of preservation and conservation of my Hummer, I present my higher mpg Lil Red Wagon.

2006 Audi A3 (had to keep it a "3" because of the H3) with only 60,000 miles on it.

Great ride! Great choice in year too. 06 was the last year before all the silly electronics started to appear.

Would've liked the TDI but they are hard to find at a reasonable price. 2.0 turbo gas engine

Nice Alex! I actually did something similar in May. Ragnar (my H3) turned 100k mi ... and to reward him and take the full responsibility off his shoulders of getting me to / from the office, I bought a 2008 Buell 1125r! Top speed - 158 mph (according to the manual - I sure has hell haven't tested this out ... yet), 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds while still getting an average of 35 mpg over the first 1k miles I've already put on her. This is a bad picture, but it's the only one I have with all of my toys at once. It's nice to have the option of driving the 3 when you feel like it (and still be able to get around when you do things like break axles)!!!

That's a great new ride!

The Haudi has already been towed to the dealer for a new high pressure fuel pump. Known issue on these 06s and there's an extended warranty on that fix, so it was free (other than using up a AAA tow). Already liking the better mpg. Not liking the weaker A/C.

Dwaine smelled coolant last week when he was in it but I haven't been able to replicate the issue. Wondering if the smell came about from us driving through 12"+ deep water and perhaps it wetted some dried coolant, which then started the smell.

I looked for almost six months for a vette like that about ten years ago - never found one I could afford in decent enough shape and ended up with an '81 Burlinetta Camaro, did an engine swap for a 350, bored, performance cam, etc. I miss that car ... don't sell the 'vette! It's a sweet ride!!!! :horns:

yeah, would you believe the PO had special adapters made to bolt those wheels to the Corvette?!!! :whaa::roll:

Needless to say, those wheels where the first thing I fixed.....
