It hasn't failed, just wondering if there had been any issues as my smog will be due in a few months. I have had the PCM tune since i purchased my new H3 in early 2007 no problems yet, almost 5 years and 50,000 miles....
LOL - ok, are you worried about it for some reason?
I am hoping this next statement does no sound condescending - a PCM tune will have nothing to do with your smog scores.
Unless it is running so rich all the time that it burns out your cats (could take years to do) but your system would reject it or signal a system or component failure right away to prevent that from happening.
Smog scores are based on a visual inspection of OEM emissions equipment and a sniff test. If you are high (over the limit) on any of the metered gasses or emissions, they will be able to tell you which piece of equipment is malfunctioning.
That's weird - I have 2006 and mine will be due in 2012 (6 years from beginning of model year). You might be worrying early.
