O2 Sensor

Okay newb question. So I just scanned my 2008 H3 Alpha and these codes popped up.

P0036 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2
P0054 - HO2S Heater Resistance Bank 1 Sensor 2
P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2

So clearly I need to replace the O2 sensor. Searched it up and found a bunch of different ones with different style prongs. Has anyone replace there sensor and know which is the right one? Also if anyone knows the exact location of the sensor and the best way to get to change it out it would be appreciated!

I replaced mine before and used the ac delco units from www.rockauto.com

The ones you're looking for are the downstream sensors. Bank 1 indicates driver side and sensor 2 indicated the downstream one (left and right sensors are the same, the downstream ones have a longer wire)

Those sensors should be visible from under the truck, where the down pipes are by the frame rail. You would be looking at the sensor after the first catalytic converter.


Btw, make sure its the sensor first and not the Cats. Move the sensor from one side to the other and keep an eye on the code reader. If the codes migrate to Bank 2 then its the sensor.

Do you have a programer that will give you live readings? You should be able to easily identify the probe voltage and know if it is bad. Make sure the engine is up to temp and rev the engine while monitoring the programer, it will cycle up and down from .1V to .9V. Not uncommon for probes to start going bad after 100k miles.

I also had O2 sensor problems...bank 2 sensor 1 and 2 along with catalytic con not in threshold code. Don't remember actual code # but was stuck rich lean/low high voltage code on 1 and 2 along with heater code. Replaced sensors 1 and 2, code cleared on sensor 1 and catalytic con...the stuck rich lean voltage high low problem went away with sensor but keep getting the heater part code. Sent sensor back and got a new one and again same code. It's a Bosch, is it because it's aftermarket? Could it be something else since can't be a coincidence 2 new sensors were bad. Wiring looks good from what I can see...starting to get tired of seeing that CEL on the dash.
