There are several differences between the original rectangular shaped version "A" crossmember and the second generation triangular shaped version "B" crossmembers, although they are forward and backward interchangeable. The version "A" is a heavier fabricated rectangular tube design that has mounting for the UCP but has a tendancy to have cracking due to inconsistent welding procedures during construction. The version "B" is a lighter fabricated traiangular tube design that does not have UCP mounting provisions and as of this date we have seen no cracking in the "B" design which is due to the robotic welding process used during its construction.
PCF cleans and inspects all crossmembers used for the ScorpWorks H3/H3T crossmember exchange. We repair and strengthen the "A" versions, add UCP mounting tab and repair skid mounting holes on the "B" versions. All are provided with new grade 8 hardware and heavier lower bushing washer.

Hope this answers questions!

After much web surfing and looking into fixes for my H3 this seems to have the absolute best reviews and praises. I just ordered mine and really can't wait to get it. This may have been my biggest reason for joining the forum but after reading a bunch of threads I gotta say this place is full of a ton of good info and seemingly helpful people. I'm telling every H3 pal I have about this place and this fix!!!!

Wow what a difference! So I got the new x-member right before going away on vacation and it was bugging me the whole time I was gone because I didn't have time to install it before I left. I got home and jumped right on it this morning and man oh man is it just a beautiful piece of work! It's a great improvement over the oem junk, maybe GM should call him for some advice!

Bringing an old thread back to life:

Will this kit work on a Rancho lifted rig? I hear some popping and movement and I believe it is the bushing... I can even feel it in the gas pedal some time... perhaps that's just my mind playing tricks

Are they still available?

my names Josh and from Australia. have had a 2008 H3 base model for just over 2 years now and love the thing to death. has taken me everywhere.
ive just clocked up 70k and have noticed on my last trip a few knocks coming from under the drivers feet......

started looking on the forum for possible causes and after looking under my H3 found that is must be the Cross member busing as the bolt underneath the cross member is completely exposed and this didn't seem right to me.

Are these upgraded cross members still available? can i get one shipped to Australia?
have read that the upgraded ones as pictured seem to be significantly stronger and more robust. have read that the OEM units are just going to fail again so thought it would be a good opportunity to upgrade.
any help or recommendations i would greatly appreciate. i dont want to replcace the whole cross member with an OEM one id rather put something stronger in.

i run a old man emu 2" suspension lift

Jimmy the PCF crossmember is the solution. Dwaine will fix you up. Go to his website and order. Many, many members are running this replacement crossmember and it is far better than OEM.
