New license plates

..got a letter from the DMV today that my new license plates for the '97 are ready to be picked up at the local DMV office.

I'm looking forward to installing them, and I wonder if this is something AAA could have helped me with, but oh well.

AAA wouldn't have been able to help. I checked into it when I got my plates. Always hate going to dmv

Pics will be forthcoming when I get the plates.

First, I have to schedule an appointment with the DMV, then go surrender the old plates and pick up the new ones. I guess the DMV must be *really* broke if they can't mail out new plates.

Actually, I was kinda impressed with my local DMV office on this one: I made an appointment, showed up for the appointment and was in and out in 5 minutes, literally. I think I spent a total of 2 minutes waiting.
