Its getting close to mine & the H2s 1st anniversary, so I thought I'd take this chance to show it off some more :)
I can't believe I've had her a whole year (well, almost... on the 20th) I love her more & more every day!!!
I was on my way to a car show last fall & it caught my eye on a used lot. I fell in love with it because of the color (and because it was a HUMMER!) They were closed, it was Saturday afternoon... Monday me & my papaw were at the lot test driving it. I had considered trading my TrailBlazer for it but just the thought of it hurt, the TB was my 1st car & we had put so much work into it, but after I drove the H2 there was no looking back! We got back from the test drive and the salesman told us it was a repo and it was listed for $19,995... We asked what they'd give for the TB and when he got off the phone with the owner I almost died! They offered me $9,995 for a 2003 TrailBlazer with over 120,000 miles on it! There was no way I could turn that down especially when we only paid $3,500 for it in the first place. I just had to find the other $10,000. We left.. before we got home papaw had decided that he was going to go back the next day & put a deposit on it so they'd hold it until we could get a loan.
Thursday I took everything out of the TB... It was sad, but knowing I was getting a H2 helped me through it. Friday I picked my baby up & have been smiling ever since!!!
This is how it looked off the lot.

I took the steps off of it as soon as I got home! The next thing I did to it was fix the exhaust leak... it was missing 2 bolts on the left manifold and 3 on the right.
My first mod was the radio... 2 12 inch Kenwood Subs, 1800 watt Kenwood amp, in a custom box.

Up front I installed a Kenwood touchscreen headunit

The second mod was custom foglights behind the lower grille

Next came Christmas time, I got a Defenderworx locking fuel door, vent visors, a V8 badge, and a Inclinometer

the inclonometer is on the overhead console
IMG_20110325_153454.jpg

After that it was a little slow for awhile... Some things needed to be replaced... I got water in my gas once, that wasn't fun...
The next mod was my graduation present, wheels and tires.
17 inch Gear Alloy Blackjack wheels with 35 inch Cooper Discoverer STT tires... I wanted Dick Cepek Mud Countrys but they were back ordered and I didn't want to wait.
IMG_20110413_195626.jpg

I also took the spare off when I got the new wheels and tires because I didn't have the money to get the 5th at the time.
IMG_20110415_125007.jpg

Again, not much got done to it for awhile... My temperature sensor went out and had to be replaced. my truck used 1/4 tank of gas after driving about 20 miles... Sealed my marker lights... put LED bulbs in my tail lights, and I put black vinyl on my "2" on the doors.
It was getting close to time to leave for college and I needed to either do some work on the H2, or take the H3 instead. I bounced back & forth on which one I wanted to take, but I didn't like the idea of my baby not being with me.
I ordered a new water pump (the old one was leaking, I went through almost a gallon of antifreeze in less than 6 months) and a 4x4 encoder motor (the old one got broken on the track at the HUMMER dealership).

And a few last minute upgrades
Custom license plate holder in the middle of the spare, painted the spare black so it halfway matched the others, and tinted the tail lights

I dont have a picture of the custom tag holder... I'll try to get one tomorrow. it doesn't look as good as the factory one, but its a whole lot cheaper!!
As she sits today.

Nice job with the upgrades. Even though you didn't have patience to get the Cepeks you've shown pretty good patience in your year of ownership with a good balance of upgrades and maintenance. Thanks for taking us through your year of ownership.

Well, I couldn't really decide between the Cepeks, STTs, or the Baja MTZs... The other two were unavailable at the time, so I just got the ones that were. And I wanted them before the Rod Runs :)

You should be happy with the STTs. I have been so far. Been in mud, snow, deep snow, rock, and sand, and they haven't let me down.

Very nice truck! I see you ditched the steps, too.

I love them so far, I haven't been able to test them offroad because my 4x4 motor was dead, but they're good on road.
& yeah, that was the 1st thing I did to it, I guess I should edit the 1st post ......

Sorry it took so long... I've been so busy with school the last few months!
My custom tag holder... I hated it being on the bumper.
IMAG0586.jpg

We cut the bracket that goes on the bumper & welded it to mount on the tire carrier. It might not look great, but it works for now.
IMAG0587.jpg

I FINALLY got my springs so I can get rid of that stupid air suspension :woot:

Papaw buffing the roof :giggle:

First snow of the year....lasted like 2 hours :whaa:

These two heeps always end up parking with me... Maybe I should get to know them................

I got my first vandalism ... Not sure if it was hate or jealousy, but I'm pissed either way!
I was parked facing my dorm, we got in the truck to go get some food. I get back, I step out of the truck, walk around to the back (I was parked facing the road this time) and see this!
IMAG0652.jpg

I was so mad I couldn't see straight! I know its just a bent tag, I've done worse to it myself, but really? Who does something like this?!
I have a feeling I know who did it though... There's this group of guys that stand on the edge of campus and smoke (its a smoke free campus) 3 or 4 times every night, and when I got in the truck to go to the campus police they were laughing their asses off and looking at the back of my truck as I drove by... All I know is they better pray that I don't catch them doing something to my H2, or anybody else's car!
I went to the campus police... all they did was take a report  he didn't even act like he cared... All they could say was I was lucky thats all that happened because somebody beat the mirrors off a 2010 Camaro a few days ago.

It damaged the custom tag holder that me and my papaw made, and broke my tag frame....

Id say you got lucky, even though i would be mad too, there have been a few reports of car breakins and vandalism on my campus recently as well, made me paranoid, i walk by my car all the time now just to make sure nothing has happened!
I did have my tv and a friends xbox 360 stolen from my room last year....soo mad cuz the tv was free that i won at a raffle!!

I put Flowmaster 40s on it and they sound awesome! It kinda sounds like a Mustang GT when idling.

I ordered Bilstein HD shocks from Shockwarehouse on December 28th and I still haven't got them!!!

One of my favorite colors. Very nice! So, what's the story on the Stingray in the background of the one pic? I've always liked C3's.

69 Stingray, its my nana's husbands car... I don't really know much about it though, corvettes have never really been my thing. I'd trade it for a 69 Shelby if it was mine :shifty:
