Its getting close to mine & the H2s 1st anniversary, so I thought I'd take this chance to show it off some more
I can't believe I've had her a whole year (well, almost... on the 20th) I love her more & more every day!!!
I was on my way to a car show last fall & it caught my eye on a used lot. I fell in love with it because of the color (and because it was a HUMMER!) They were closed, it was Saturday afternoon... Monday me & my papaw were at the lot test driving it. I had considered trading my TrailBlazer for it but just the thought of it hurt, the TB was my 1st car & we had put so much work into it, but after I drove the H2 there was no looking back! We got back from the test drive and the salesman told us it was a repo and it was listed for $19,995... We asked what they'd give for the TB and when he got off the phone with the owner I almost died! They offered me $9,995 for a 2003 TrailBlazer with over 120,000 miles on it! There was no way I could turn that down especially when we only paid $3,500 for it in the first place. I just had to find the other $10,000. We left.. before we got home papaw had decided that he was going to go back the next day & put a deposit on it so they'd hold it until we could get a loan.
Thursday I took everything out of the TB... It was sad, but knowing I was getting a H2 helped me through it. Friday I picked my baby up & have been smiling ever since!!!
This is how it looked off the lot.
I took the steps off of it as soon as I got home! The next thing I did to it was fix the exhaust leak... it was missing 2 bolts on the left manifold and 3 on the right.
My first mod was the radio... 2 12 inch Kenwood Subs, 1800 watt Kenwood amp, in a custom box.
Up front I installed a Kenwood touchscreen headunit
The second mod was custom foglights behind the lower grille
Next came Christmas time, I got a Defenderworx locking fuel door, vent visors, a V8 badge, and a Inclinometer
the inclonometer is on the overhead console
After that it was a little slow for awhile... Some things needed to be replaced... I got water in my gas once, that wasn't fun...
The next mod was my graduation present, wheels and tires.
17 inch Gear Alloy Blackjack wheels with 35 inch Cooper Discoverer STT tires... I wanted Dick Cepek Mud Countrys but they were back ordered and I didn't want to wait.
I also took the spare off when I got the new wheels and tires because I didn't have the money to get the 5th at the time.
Again, not much got done to it for awhile... My temperature sensor went out and had to be replaced. my truck used 1/4 tank of gas after driving about 20 miles... Sealed my marker lights... put LED bulbs in my tail lights, and I put black vinyl on my "2" on the doors.
It was getting close to time to leave for college and I needed to either do some work on the H2, or take the H3 instead. I bounced back & forth on which one I wanted to take, but I didn't like the idea of my baby not being with me.
I ordered a new water pump (the old one was leaking, I went through almost a gallon of antifreeze in less than 6 months) and a 4x4 encoder motor (the old one got broken on the track at the HUMMER dealership).
And a few last minute upgrades
Custom license plate holder in the middle of the spare, painted the spare black so it halfway matched the others, and tinted the tail lights
I dont have a picture of the custom tag holder... I'll try to get one tomorrow. it doesn't look as good as the factory one, but its a whole lot cheaper!!
As she sits today.
