Yep, Gravity is Working!

On November 5th, a huge rock plunged down from the canyon rim onto Route 279 (AKA the Potash Road) near Moab. The road surface near the Intrepid Potash plant was severely damaged, but thankfully no people were hurt. As far as we know, the road remains open. Thanks to the Moab BLM for sharing these photos. Candy....why contact the BLM? That's a county highway. BLM has no responsibility to repair it, has no control over if it is closed, etc. Just curious?

I think that rock belonged to the BLM and they should have insurance for such occurrences

Ok. I was just wondering. Sorry if I implied it was your suggestion, but....

Alrock...not our rock either. It was on 279, past Long Canyon and actually came off American Potash property, so it is their rock.:giggle:

But if you think this one was large, I'll try and get a photo of the boulder that destroyed at least 100 feet of their train track and a major switch.

And I need to make a correction...not a county hwy, it is a state hwy.
