When you used duplicolor did you put any adhesion promoter or have to sand the grille or anything or did you just take the grille off clean it and start painting?

If you get bubbles underneath it might be better to start from scratch and repaint, it sounds like the initial coat isn't adhering to whatever you painted

I used prep-all to clean it, then sanded it with 100 grit, then washed it to get the dust off... it is sticking, but its tiny bubbles here and there.... that go away when its warm and stops raining

I used a red scuff pad (lots of sanding ,get in everywhere) , etching primer and 4 coats of DupliColor.

Looks very clean. So the majority of you who use duplicolor have to sand it down then spray some adhesive before painting? I used plastidip and i just washed it and started painting. I was just comparing the two.

I had chrome wheels, mirrors and door handles, cleaned with alcohol and sprayed with Rustoleum bed liner.
Also used it on the roof trim and rack we built, it's stainless and aluminum. I will be spraying my rock rails lower and rear lower corner trim also.
Holds up to a 3000 psi power washer.

I noticed today, after the truck was parked in direct sunlight for half the day, that I've got some bubbles forming too. I used adhesion promoter on everything. But it was only on the mirrors and a handle or two.

Kinda digging this up but I also just got some rust oleum bed liner, did you use a clear coat? I got the flat protective enamel cause I wanna see how that goes.

I used matte black paint once to top coat and I didn't care how it looked or how it held up. I don't spray anything on top of it plus it can be touched up by spraying it on a small paint brush or Q-Tip.
The sun doesn't seem to affect it like it does paint.
