So how’d it go with the new tires? What’s the initial impression?

Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to put any miles on them since getting them installed last week. Okay, maybe it was a mile home from the shop.

They're a good looking tire. For as an aggressive of a tread as they have, they're quiet. Then again, i didn't get above 45 mph on my way home. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to go play. I basically picked it up and parked it before heading out of town on business. I'll be back in the States later next week, and be able to provide a better initial assessment after logging a few more miles on 'em

I’m running the Ko2s I bought the vehicle with and I’m having a hard time replacing them when they still have plenty of life left. The previous owner put them on not long before selling the vehicle and chose 265 75 16s like stock... I will say they’ve done great in snow and heavy rain. I got a little sideways in a nice pine needle/ mud soup on hard packed dirt though. They’re just small.

My last set of KO2's AT's took forever to wear out. I got somewhere in the neighborhood of 120K out of them. What I didn't like about them was the handling in snow. I never felt confident with the amount of traction they had and I was always nervous they would slip out at any moment. IMO the tread pattern is not suited for the weight of the H3's. I replaced them with Duratrac's and the difference in performance on snow/ice was very significant. The tire seems perfectly suited for the H3's which, again imo, goes back to the tread pattern. I feel like the BFG MT KO2's may perform better overall than the AT's but that's just a hunch.

What I can't stand about Duratrac's is how loud and unbalanced they get near the end of their life. I have some on my Xterra that *should* be good for 20,000 more but I cant stand their road manors now that they are worn down more and will be replacing them soon with some KO2's which I have had nothing but good experiences with

I’ve been eyeing the discoverer AT3 XLT and the dick cepek trail country EXP for a bit. Waiting on more reviews for both of them since they’re fairly new. I was at a local shop and saw the EXPs in person and I like the look of them. Look a bit beefier in person than in the pictures.

I wish they made the ridge grappler in a 295 75 16. Or that they were a bit lighter.

It was said somewhere they are one of the easiest to balance so the extra weight is in the right places.

They list the new LT305/70R16 's you pointed out as having the same diameter as their LT285/75R16's: 32.83. Tire size calculator says they'd have the same side wall size too: 8.4" But...:shifty: they are an inch wider at 12.24 vs 11.26.

If my stock wheels weren't dead and that tire was available last December I would have tried them on for sure.
