Auto dimming feature quit working in mine. It only has compass and temp. No Onstar or Bluetooth.

Mine stopped working too and it ended up being connected to the cruise control circuit.
Check fuse 35 if you haven't.
I put a new cruise control break switch in and my cruise control and mirror magically started working again.
no idea why it did but nothing else in the electrical components makes sense on this thing.

Humvdood- thanks for the input. I totally understand about the electrical gremlins we have to deal with.
Cruise control is working fine though.

Mine stopped working because it was getting some stray voltage from the vehicle backup circuit. It was about 0.3 volts if memory serves.
This circuit turns off the auto dimming when you put the vehicle in reverse.
I just clipped the wire going to the mirror.
Sorry I don't remember which wire it was. Long time ago

Well guess what. The ebay purchase didn't work either. You are spot on regarding the revers override.
To make a long story short, the mirror doesn't like LED back up lamps. The drives must produce a back feed/errant voltage.
Put the original bulbs back in and I now have two mirrors hat work. Go figure.

This is for my 06. Your 09 is most likely the same.
The back up wire is brown and goes to pin 9 on the connector to the mirror.
To make sure I'd pull the pin and not cut the wire. In the future you may find you need it for some word reason.
