How to remove hose on evap canister solenoid?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm replacing the solenoid b/c it keep getting the p0449 code.

I just did this a couple of weeks ago. I used pliers to break the plastic nipple that is in the hose and then remove the pieces with needle nose pliers. I couldn't get it off without doing this. Didn't damage the hose at all

Anyone else? Where do I need to apply pressure to release the quick disconnect?
