Here's a 20,000 mile motor mount

Passenger side, which gets more abuse typically than the driver's side. It's not quite ripped all the way around but it's very close. We replaced both sides. The driver's side was not as bad but since the diff was already out the access was easier. The AC Delco motor mounts have gone up about $10-$15 since April when I purchased these. I may try aftermarket next time since they are 1/3 of the price.

Right now I'm replacing mounts about every 20,000 to 30,000 miles. The transmission mount was recently replaced but it was actually fine. I just replaced it since I had one on hand and the transmission was being replaced.

What year is your H3? I know on our 2009 H3T it had a heat shield on motor mount that I have not seen on any other years. On our 2007/2007s we would ruin motor mounts around 10,000-15,000 miles that did not have the factory heat shield. The aftermarket ones suck. We had even shorter life of 1 week on one set and another set was clocked wrong so the triangle did not line up with the frame size right which made it impossible to install.

My motor mount does have the factory heat shield on it - I have an early 2007. It's wearing out so I'm trying to order a replacement heat shield but they might not be available. Glad you said something about the aftermarket motor mounts - I just ordered a set to have on the shelf for next time. Guess I'll be returning those.

That’s strange there can be such a difference from part to part. Our H3 is “temporarily paused” until I decide the next course of action, but at 300,000 miles ours are original and still appear to be intact. I’d look around them (among other things) with an inspection camera and they still appear fine, or at least don’t have any visible separation.

I put in a set about 15k miles ago and they’re starting to go. Getting vibration in the steering wheel again.
