Just posted to craigslist. I am not sure how... but it looks cgalpha08's 2008 rig has been restored from the salvage yard and now is for sale. Look at the stickers, same placement.

oh damn. Yea buyer beware, it needed a new frame and the body shop told me that the collision pushed stuff into the firewall and the fuse box was cracked. Also look closely at the hood, it looks to be sitting funny.

I have been keeping my eyes open for an Alpha!

Just wondering if you can provide me with some further details on the H3:

Do you have an photo's from under the hood?
Does this one have the adventure or lux packages?
What kind of lift kid does it have?
Are there any maintenance issues that need to be taken care of or previous accidents?

When I worked on it...it had rock rails, ucp, 4.56 gears, front and rear lockers with a ci front diff, but the front locker wasn’t hooked up. No lift. Overall a great rig. I was very bummed that he didn’t buy it back from the insurance company (and sell it to me).

Yea I'm curious if they figured out that it had 4.56 and they didn't mess that up somehow.

"Yes I will take a few pic for you tomorrow under the hood and the lift is just one inch Lux Package and needs nothing just a new owner runs perfect non issues only used synthetic oil and premium gas "

This guy is clearly trying to avoid telling the whole story, I am going to see if he will provide the VIN so "I can run a Car Fax on it" :giggle:

I like where this is going... Maybe you can get him to admit some details by asking how long he owned it or did he build the truck himself. Also I would just straight up ask why it is a rebuilt title.

have you been the owner since new or do you know how many previous owners?
I am interested in why there is no fuse box cover - has it been driven around long without it? Also the right corner (Rad support area) looks like its a bit wavy, is that just a weird reflection or has this truck been in a front end collision?
I assume you have a clear title on it as well?

Pretty sure a good body shop would have been able to repair this much better than these guys did. Only reason why my shop didn't do it was because the frame damage was that extensive and straightening it out would have compromised the strength and integrity of it.

I agree, a body hammer and dolly would have been able to get that much more presentable with an hours work - in a way I am glad they are lazy so that potential buyers can spot the damage if they decide to not share the previous history

So he replied and didn't hide the fact it had an accident:

"its a rebuilt title that's why the price is lower than a clean title.. yes it was hit on the drivers side just replaced the headlight bumper cover and grill and repainted the hood because of a dent from the accident!! Very easy fix.. I had it for about a year and I am the second owner... "

If I were in the market for a Alpha I would be looking at SBG's for the piece of mind that comes with the extra $1,000

The alpha frame can be fixed but it would be easier to get a replacement one (helps the H3 is a body on frame design)

No prob Conner...I understand. I will always consider this truck as the one that got away.
Btw...none of this damage even remotely concerns me. I knew the truck, and I knew the owner...and wheeled with him several times. I would have been shaving the front frame rails for the SAS anyway. I would still be interested in it, if I could get it for the original buy-back price.

My old one is still forsale in Milwaukee as well. For what they are asking , it will be forsale for a long time.:giggle:
