Looks like anti-theft is kicking in and preventing the engine from running. It could be a loss of communications between the PCM and BCM. You need a Tech II scanner to verify.

Interesting. Odd how it keeps cranking on its own. I know some GMs are auto starting, in that you just bump the key and it cranks for a programmed amount of time. My Envoy was like that, and my wife's Pontiac is like that. But my 2005 H2 is "old school" in that it only cranks while you hold the key, and keeps cranking until you let go. Very strange problem you have there!

I dont want to get off topic but the H3 I think is new school. Tap the key and it will crank itself...

good luck with the problem. MaxPF probably has an accurate guess on the issue.

If the anti rheft is kicked turn the key forward for 20 min ...in the case you have unplugged your pcm you will need a dealer to reprogram it to your key and or ignition

Ok but the problem is that in Portugal is very dificult to read a cpm and reprogram it. We can do it but not with this car. The ignition switch was allready replaced by a new one and eveythings the same. The anti-theft isnt in the controller' Not in the ignition right?

Anti-theft is a coordination between the ignitiion cylinder. BCM, and PCM. GM uses a couple different systems, and I'm not sure which one your H2 uses. What I do know is that the PCM and BCM are locked to each other, and if there is no communication between them the vehicle will not keep running. The BCM is in charge of reading the ignition key or cylinder (depending on which type of anti-theft the vehicle has), and if it is satisfied that it is a legit attempt to start it sends the PCM a code letting it know that it is OK to run. The code is sent over the class II data bus between the BCM and PCM. If the BCM isn't satisfied or the link between the BCM and PCM is broken, then the engine will not keep running.

Is the "Security" light on after the engine fires and dies? This is a giveaway that it is an anti-theft blocked start.

So you did replace the entire switch like I said on the other forum? If you did and its still doing the same **** then something else besides the stock truck is taking over.

ignition switch.jpg

That ignition switch physically seperates those functions. Even if you had some smashed/pinched wires in the steering column...It wouldn't cycle through like that video.

Like I said in the other thread, I bet you have a remote start or alarm on it. What the hell is on that keychain in the video??

You never did explain anywhere- Did you just get this truck? Whats was done on it last before this started??

You need to get under the steering wheel, and look way up in the dash for a box spliced in. The box could be as small as a deck of cards- look for wire splices, heat shrink tubing or electrical tape. Its a big area, maybe get a couple people looking, sometimes its right in front of your face. Maybe there is a toggle switch under the dash or general area or a indicator light...follow those wires. Gotta be in there.

Hey! The thing is: It was bought from a Football player, and I think it was alterated a lot. Not only electrical (car alarm, distance engine starter) but also phisicly. It does not show a SECURITY light.

So, it has had a bunch of mods done, and you think it can be diagnosed from a video? Sorry, but without a Tech II to first eliminate any base electrical issues I think you're tubed.
