H2 Long Tube Headers in 2025

Long time with no posts, but I've had my truck for 14 years now and now finally seems like the right time to install long tube headers.... 5 years after most vendors sold out and stopped carrying headers of course.🤣

There is 1 vendor carrying Dynatech headers - BOLO motorsports for a steep $2100 for the full kit with cats. Even the Dynatech site doesn't show these headers any longer. I'm curious if anyone had purchased headers in the past 2-3 years and have any suggestions? My other concern with this site is that it shows they fit the half ton series GM's and the H2 which seems somewhat suspicious given the frame and mounting differences, that and the driver side crossing over under the transmission does not have the flat area to prevent it from hitting the skid cover.

I'm regeared to 4.56 but just went up from my tiny 37x12.5 KO2s to a much more true 37x13.5 Cooper STT Pro, the gearing improvement is almost unnoticeable now. Rather increase my power than re-gear again - though to be honest $2,100 for pipes is the exact same I paid for my gears/labor.

stick with stock, long tubes will rob power at the bottom end. A cam swap and a tune for half that cost will gain far more power over the entire RPM range.

Im going to be honest, this truck is constantly hitting the 5,600rpm redline.

I’m not big on the cam route right now because the engine has almost 210k miles so opening the engine leads to a lot more ā€œwell-might-as-wells and while I have plenty of other vehicles to run, I’m not interested in pulling this one down for what will inevitably be 2 months. I’m sure the opportunity will present itself naturally in the next 100k miles.

I’m all about doing a tune but I feel like I need to do some supporting mods to make it worthwhile.

Have you done headers? I would be concerned about losing bottom end on 2ā€ headers but 1.75ā€ seems pretty standard for a N/A improvement.
