I am looking to get some fuel cans for an upcoming trip. I am looking hard at the Rotopax but am not fully sold mainly due to price. Also living in California it does limit what we can buy new, not sure about used/old stock cans. I will be installing them on the roof of my new Gobi when it arrives. Thanks for your input.

I have some sceptor cans, and several "Atlantic British" metal "old style" jerry cans. Fuel will last longer in a metal can, if you decide to store it for a few months. Not sure if they're carb compliant, or not. I think the spout is what's suppose to be carb compliant.

It's the spout that is CARB BS. I never store fuel in the cans for more than a month, use it as I need it at home with the lawnmower and stuff.

Well I love it. Like it or not the rest of the country is going adopt all CARB fuel regulations within 5 years. New federal mandates are on their way. Thanks Obama.

I went with military 5 gal jerry cans 2 of them for free was a no brainier, plus they are made to last and way better than any civilian version out here and I know because I bought a set before I got this ones gift by Uncle Sam. But I seen them at surplus stores too not too expensive either.

I've seen them at surplus stores and they're cheap knock offs painted green.

It's really disappointing that this CARB Laws happened. I think the MFC are better at everything over any CARB compliant can. Especially the things CARB was trying to prevent.

If you're ever in Canada do yourself a favor and pick up a couple of the Scepter MFC Gas can, along with the gasket for both diesel and gas.

I really like Rotopax but I agree, the capacity versus price is a little steep. I'd like to have a set of them one day if I ever get around to trying to rig up a mounting system to possibly the spare tire carrier.

I have an old school style metal gas can I picked up on amazon. No CARB bullcrap, was tired of those pile of crap nozzles breaking and rendering the entire can useless. Never had an issue with this one.

Went down to 4 Wheel Parts this weekend and was impressed with the Rotopax and the mounting kits they have. I may do the 2 - 3 gallon and lay flat on the roof rack.

It's too bad there isn't something more stout and secure for the spare tire carrier than the strap systems out there for rotopax.

I've been searching for a tire rack too. Looks like modifying a generic rack is all we have. Tha will be a small side project for short trips when I don't want to hassle with the Gobi.
