LONGG way to go for what I want, but heres some slow progress..

Ill have to work on the how to on those HVAC, its very simple. Also I do think I am going to keep the wing, i dont see alot with it, so its a little different.

Also X3 on the LED lights. Mine went out a few month ago but likely I was still under warranty. Now if it will go out again I will have to look for that mod.

How does the radio work out in that location for you? I originally had my offroad light switches in approximately that location and had to move them because I kept turning them on with my knee when I climbed in. Nice looking truck. Have to say I have never seen a wing on an H3 so you may have the only one.

I originally thought it may be a problem, at 6'1" with my knees getting in and out, however it has not become an issue at all. I may have hit it with me knee 1 time? I think because it sits up high and is angled up, it is just barely out of the way, but enough that it doesnt bother my. If i didnt have my mic mounted on the right side of the wheel thats where I was going to put my aux switches. Try that. I saw a few with them there and seems like a very good spot for them.

As far as the wing, those are my thoughts, I havent seen any so I think ill keep it. Also it seems to keep at least half of the debris off when driving in wet weather. I dont really use the rear wiper except once and a while just to wipe whats there, i dont leave it on. Thanks also.

can you tell me what kind of emergency lights you used and how do you like them? I am a LEO and want to outfit my raptor with emergency lights.

i wanted to do police lights on my h3 when i had it, but i know i would be pulled over and dragged straight to jail. :shifty:

yea same here. i got a siren box for it a friend gave me from his old police cruiser, i got the speaker wired up for the pa but prob not a good idea for the sirens though.

Currently, mine is on the back, and it works great for reception - but would, if I talked for long periods of time, overheat my radio.... so I need a new location - but I'd rather avoid the obvious roof mount because it'd get knocked off on parking garages and by trees....

I use all Whelen lighting. There are plenty of others and they all offer different lightheads and uses. Check www.strobesnmore.com and www.sirennet.com for alot of options and useful information.

We operate on UHF 450-512 range. It works great there for me. I didnt want to drill in roof and run thru headliner so this was an easier option. I have zero problems with transmit or receive. It would obviously work best on the roof, but Im happy with it where it is. As far as the 800Mhz, I would stick with the roof, and just use the flat or sharkfin antennas. You will lose some, but not enough to justify a larger antenna. Check here
