I had to buy 12 of these to get the price down, so I decided to buy a few extras and pass the deal on to any forum members that are interested. They are CM 3/4" Shackles with a 6.5 Ton work load and a break strength of 78,000lbs (39 Tons). Best of all these shackles are made in the USA! Never buy a shackle unless the WLL is stamped into them.

May be hard to tell from the pictures but the CM have a noticeable larger body and pin size then the Smittybilt

I guess I would rather have a stronger and better built shackle then one with a better finish (although I did respray mine so I have both :wink. Not to mention made in the USA is huge plus for me.

They are 3/4", which is the most common size used in recovery and plenty for an H3/H3T (or Jeep, Toyota, Land Rover, Etc). They have a work load limit of 13,000lbs and a break strength of 78,000lbs. Dimensions can be found here :link:

I know visibly, there's not much difference between a Chinese and a US shackle, but I like supporting the American worker which is why I bought these. I applaud your doing the same.

Visibly, not much difference, but there's a difference in metal quality--American being among the best you can get. Take a look at the junk that Harbor Freight sells, most made somewhere overseas; it probably wouldn't be bad tools, but the metal quality sucks, so you get broken tools.
