Experiences with plastidiping wheels?

I really would like matte black wheels and have been looking into some for around 700 to 800. I've seen a rig around town with what looks like plastidip wheels. And it looks damn good. BUT...it doesn't look like that thick ever leaves the pavement. I mud, offroad and pretty run over anything higher than a curb. I was wondering if anyone has had an experience with durability and how well it would hold up to rugged conditions. I Know it's cheating out but I'm considering it.

I just used duplicolor wheel paint with their matte clearcoat. Turned out pretty dang good and supposedly super durable.

When i Had mine dipped they held up good to pretty much everthing. Mud, clay, dirt, gravel, snow. Only thing that i had a problem with was cleaning them

Plasti-dip works pretty well, but I decided to use the spray on bedliner instead. So far its held up real well, only downside is that its not easily removable.

Been happy with Plastidip so far. I did have to peel it and re-do when I got new tires, the edge won't survive the machine. It is not as easy to clean as I would like and you do gave to be careful, but it will do until I want to spend the $ for powdercoating.

Had my rims plasti dipped for almost two yrs and still happy with them, pretty easy to touch up too, jus clean rim and spray more, and if u ever wanna go to something else, just peel off and done.

I listened to this guy, followed his advice and my Jeep wheels turned out great. I have people compliment them all of the time - including other Jeep owners wondering what I used / how I did it. They've held up well on the trails too ...

Plasti Dip is a great option. I'm in the process of buying the sprayer. Plans are to dip the H3 wheels and dip my entire Jeep. If done properly they will hold up just fine. Best part is its cheap to redo if needed and really easy to peel and change up. Dipyourcar.com also has good cleaning supplies available.

Just recently plastidipped my wheels and my logos on the cars and I've been getting compliments since. No chipping or anything and it's holding up well. It's easy to put on also and cheap so a win win.

Saw someone plastidip the emblems on an H3 and it looked really clean...gonna give the emblems a try tomorrow. I'll post pics when done. Possibly in a new forum

I plasti-dipped my wheels on my 06 hummer and it came off in road trip but I kind of suck at painting so it might of been my fault LOL

I am very happy with it as well I did bumper, grill, wheels and nerf bars - I will need to touch up after this winter because I have been seeking out piles of snow to drive through Here are before and after pictures.

I used the duplicolor on my H2's and it looked really good for a couple of years until eventually the pressure washer started removing little spots here and there. I sanded them and used a self-etching primer before the base coats, and then lots of clear coats after that. (The top right one in this pic is base coat only, no clear)
