yeah, all the rear upper shock mounts broke...from what I read that is one of the harshest roads on this planet at least. But even more interesting was the reaction...or lack of! If it had been a group of hummers broken down the 4x4 community would not be so forgiving.

Several European country's militaries use those G-Wagons. I've seen theirs side by side with Humvees... I'll take the Humvee... and most of them would too... at least from what they've told me.

The Marine Corps had them for some time too. I saw a few still operational at Camp Pendelton.

Don't see many serious ones here in the US -- mostly blinged out and driven by rappers or soccer moms. The rest of the world use them like utility trucks. I prefer my hummer as well, but I am talking about world travel -- I think a G, Defender or Cruiser might be safer/easier to maintain.

Yep, they all roll on 20s around here. Always black or silver with unnecessary (unused) guards on the front turn signals, etc. Would love too see one with at least A/T tires on it.

I was tempted by the G before the Hummer, but the Hummer (obviously) won out.
