I really, really, really hope they are getting rid of vehicles that, for whatever reason, have been deemed to expensive to continue to operate and maintain. I know they save some only have 12k miles on them, but what is the age of these trucks? And... those 12k miles could (at least in theory) been *very* hard miles with little / no / poor maintenance

....but that's all total speculation and wishful thinking on my part

We have trucks that are 10 years old with a couple thousand miles on them. Even with such low miles they are broken down every other day. And odds are if someone in the military was driving it, those miles were pretty rough.

I agree usually when Joe's drive them it isn't in the truck's best interest. But even now at my reserve unit seems like we get and rotate trucks quite often...an those trucks hardly move but a just a little bit once a month.

Yeah...I got a similar De-Mil shop in my back-yard. They told me 6000 units will be scrapped at this single facility...and they have three other scrapyards in the midwest (Peoria is not one of them). Same story...motors & tires only.
