Can someone with factory crossrails please measure the distance from the roof to the bottom of the rail. I have some sort of aftermarket rails that appear to be more solid than the oem ones but they sit up pretty high. I am most likely getting a roof basket for Christmas and I don't want it sitting way high off the roof so I'm gonna lower them a little. I dont wanna go quite as low as the oem to try and avoid contact between the rack and roof while loaded. It's just gonna be used for mostly camping stuff. Tents, chairs, pop up canopy and stuff like that. Nothing crazy heavy. Mostly just my hi-lift, shovel and lights will be up there. Thanks.

Sorry, my old ones are in someone else's garage . . .

But, I'll add that when F5 had a roof rack on his H3, the OEM bars would flex and the rack mounts would hit his roof. He upgraded to Yakima crossbars for their additional height and strength.

I read that somewhere and that's why I'd like them to be a little higher than the oem ones... The bars I have are higher and look stiffer than oem so I plan to use them. I just wonder if I can get them to sit a little lower so the rack doesn't sit way up off the roof. I may have to just leave them alone and deal with it.
